Indie vs the Mainstream
There is some stuff in the mainstream that I like but for a lot of what the majors are putting out on the radio and on MTV/VH1 is lacking something. Music just loses something when some suit that's not even part of the demographic he's trying to sell to dictates to an artist what to put out. It's a shame that there is so much talent in the majors whos music is often dumbed down to meet the labels perceptions about the public's taste in music.

As it turns out, there is a plethora of talent that is not signed to a major or even to any label at all with music that is often better than what you can find on the radio because it has not been dumbed down.

I can argue this into oblivion but the best way to illustrate my point is to turn you on to some good independent tunes. I spent some time today and made a killer station of 25 songs from 25 bands that are a pretty good indicator of what else is out there.

The playlist is here. You may not like every thing on there (I do) but you're bound to become a fan of a few of these bands. Thanks and I look forward to your comments
