How in the world did I ever get so far from where I started ?
Broken Dreams/ RELEASED
Billy Falcon
I came here to be a big man on Broadway, looks like I made it
Collecting cans and washin’ car windows all day, money for the takin’
Bum, that’s what they call me cause I won’t follow
Numb, and more so with every swallow
After pourin’ out my heart and soul, after given it my all an all
Who’d a thought that all my plans and schemes would leave me here,
On this boulevard of broken dreams
How in the world did I ever get so far from where I started?
How in the hell could I ever end up so damn downhearted
Lost, without a star to follow, tossed, sinkin’ in a sea of hollow
I better get myself some warmer clothes;
Where in the hell are all these people goin’?
Summer’s gone and now it’s gettin’ cold….
This is my home, the boulevard of broken dreams
There’s only the top and the bottom;
It’s either ripe or it’s rotten; and there ain’t no in-between
When your fifty-six years old, on the boulevard of broken dreams
After pourin’ out my heart and soul, after given it my all an all
Who’d a thought that all my plans and schemes would leave me here,
On this boulevard of broken dreams
Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh
