Oh Music seems still one way or another to matter to the masses....
but it seems nowadays everyone is into their own little niche of what they like...
Still waiting to see if anyone, be it us again, be it anyone else even Meatpie,
comes up with a bloody record---even fucking one!---to catch and grab
the imagination and inner angst of everybody at the same time.
I suppose people were more similar once upon a time.
Now anybody's anything, you can't keep up with it, can you.

OH. Okay, I get it, I'll explain it to the others. Said John Lennon.
You're not talking about 'do the masses still consume music' so to speak.
You're talking about Music as a Social Force. Well you're right there.
Lots has changed since my day you know.
In my day, your youth or the youth of your ancestors since flies
really don't live terribly long, it was, a lot bloody different.
Basically, Humanity Had Hope. It doesn't anymore. Been beaten down.
And it knows it. So it hobbles along, put in its place,
and it's all very sad really.
Once upon a time, people were hopeful, felt like,
we could take it all on, and win.
There was also, in those old days,
a feeling prevalent among, like all of us,
that it was 'us'.
The people who manipulate society into the pile of shit that it currently is,
have endeavored to cause subdivisions between people.
More than it was before.
So we no longer all feel like 'we're in it together' not as much as we should.
You wanna add anything Lesley?
~John Lennon
George just said "Hey how come you don't ask me?"
Well do you? Right. I summed it up, what are you gonna say
"Yeah, what John said"?

Okay. Alright. I get what it is you're trying to say.
And yeah, uh, What John Said.
But to expound, and those of you who know me, know that's what I do next....
It's not just that music matters more to the masses...
To say that, well, it's oversimplified. So let me see if I can't clarify it at all.
Music, in the old days we grew up in, and as I know you are not
in actuality a fly, without naming names, I'll guess you were there too.
I know you were there too. You're older than I am.
Nearly impossible for a fly, so Judos Kudos to you there, Friend.
Music in the time we grew up in, was a Social Force,
in a way that it isn't now. Because, as John pointed out,
THEN, people had hope. Now, not so much.
And yes, he's also correct in his assessment
that in those days, it was all of us against the establishment...
but decades later, the establishment has managed to
'divide and conquer'... all of we the people, into bullshit subdivisions.
And most of us are so damned beaten down,
that even hearing it explained as we just did...
all that'll compute is blablablablabla...
And what'll fix that? Music?
Or a good hit on the head?
We don't know.
So we try to make Music that'll hit you all on the bloody head, I suppose.
Nah. Not even. Okay sometimes, we'll attempt such a laughable thing;
trying to come up with something, that'll speak to EVERYONE
no matter who you are or what subdivision you've been shunted into...
Mostly, we just make what we like.
But anyway,
it's not just MUSIC that matters more to the masses in the old days,
it's EVERYTHING...
LIFE mattered more then.
LOVE mattered more then.
PEOPLE mattered more then.
EARTH mattered more then.
Television was useful but had not yet quite taken over the world.
Shit changes.
Anyway, Yeah, I get your point too, I just expounded on it,
adding some articulation to the little darlin'.
EVERYTHING used to matter more to the masses.
And Now, almost nothing does anymore.
What a Great Time To Be Alive! Not.
