What do you mean by less soulful? Are you referring to the steady decline of soul music or are you referring to something else. Please clarify!

Oh I get it. Well, I think this place has plenty of soul. There are people here with strong soulful emotions. But soul Music? That is a different thing. I believe that in a few years there will be no such thing as new soul music. The genre has declined to an almost certain death. But here? There are some really soulful people with great talent. I Love This Place. That is why I come here every single day to hear music and hang out with my fellow independent musicians.
IMO This Place Has Plenty Of Soul

Well, there's no escaping the ever increasing commercialization front and center on the interwebs. Commerce has no soul, whatsoever. If people see that as the purpose of the internet, no wonder there's no soul showing.
Like this place, there are other niches of soul around. They're just increasingly hard to find, and some are converting from one to the other.
People in general may be getting less likely to say what they think on the WWW because they've had enough useless fights. Just about anything you say in an environment that promotes faceless responses can invoke vituperation from SOMEBODY. Scathing causticism (I invented that word) is not soulful.

Yes you're right - on a small scale Airbnb (which I do as both host and guest) started as a great platform for house sharing and meeting people round the world - all based on trust. Now it's turned into a billion dollar corporation letting people buy property and charge extortionate rents......
We still do the Airbnb small scaley thing but it's typical of how greed and corporate agendas take over great ideas on the interenet.
I don't care how small or big this site is - you can still interact with other human beings and musicians and for me that says it has soul here. For me mainly a musical thing but cultivating contact and friendship too.
