Do good songs come from inside of you or from an outside muse?
I tend to think there is an outside factor which comes into play for the best inspirations.

as I see it, I suppose you could say it is both,
the Muse,
she is outside us all
and
she is inside us all

Good songs come from talent and persistence. One could say that the subconscious mind is like a muse because it has no filter. It just is what it is without the artifice. Good songs (authentic, unpretentious, original) come from the inside out. It involves more feeling and less thinking.

The adjective "Good" is superfluous because any song [good, bad or mediocre) can come from anywhere :-
observation, motivation, fact, fiction, luck, hard work, visual stimulation, circumstance, plagiarism or merely a happy accident
If you believe your creations are particularly good, then you might think they come from a higher or deeper source than your own consciousness.
Music artists in particular like to attribute their work to something within or without that they have no control over... it could be a living person, a ghost, a geographical location OR even some brain changing substance or stimulant.
A muse is a muse in whatever form or dimension... but not necessarily a good one

the muse of which I spoke, is "The Muse".
The main one. She's a pistol. I know her personally.
Have a nice day.

something lives in my piano, some spirit or ghost. I sit down and my fingers start moving around. then a song happens I done most of my piano songs like that. always have the zoom thing around. its like an epiphany of sorts goes on. I dont plan to do anything, but dabble and this thing ends up as a song. I have no idea why, I look at the piano and see colors sit down and these ideas translate in to music, its the piano, it is haunted or something
