I'm not the captain of my ship.
The more i think about it I have control of nothing in my life. Life steers me around like a crash dummy. No wonder I'm so demonstrative when it comes to sex. It's the only place I take charge, that must be to make up for everything else.
What a long lousy quest for freedom life is. But the walls surround me, the days pound me, My only escape is a woman of my own species and a place above the clouds that some say doesn't even exist.

I wouldn't tell a dying soul there's no heaven when we go
I've no intelligence to boast of the things I don't know
Our we just thieves and liars ?
Even our truths conspire ... prisons
The arrogance of honesty
And the gravity of guns
Scream

I beg to differ. You are the captain of your ship.
Perhaps you have no control over what is in the water....or what is in the sky.
Somewhere in your journey you learned to believe that it's pointless to steer your ship.
Now others will turn around and steer the other way when they see you wrecklessly headed their way.
Your lovers will be other potential ship wrecks.
Take hold of the wheel.

We have control over our choices... each choice we make in any given moment hopefully steers us in the direction of our goals, to the place in our lives that we want to be standing. AND yes, sometimes the universe gives us obstacles to navigate that are out of our control... however, we always have control over our reaction... and then by the next choice we make, to navigate around those obstacles... which are only lessons and are placed there, so that we become more of who we are instead of who we think we are.
Choose to take control of your ship.

So, the sad news for you is: You have no one to blame but yourself. (with a few exceptions such as lightening striking)
However, the good news is: You can do something about it. (Most things that is)
An epiphanal moment for me was: I came home after work one day. My house was a horrible mess!! In anger I shouted, "who the hell is the pig who left this mess?" It then occured to me that I was the pig who lived there.

Restless souls require more than a pat on the back and a ticket to oblivion at the weekends some require so much more. Chase those golden butterfly,s across the abyssal plain you call your mind. Someday you may float upon a breeze called freedom and fly with the butterflies into the sunlight never submitting to your failings and disgrace,s which you foist upon yourself. They are only a temporary allusion to a soul that is fighting to be released from the crumbling decay all around

Flung into the sea ...
I fought like Hell to rescue me
but the endless waves had a stronger plan
I hoisted sail and charted coarse ...
but prevailing winds took me by force
and the helm would not respond to my command
Was this to be my destiny ...
To wander 'round so aimlessly
until they find my body washed upon the sand
I heard the wail of the banshee ...
It ripped my soul from sanity
and I realised I was playing a dead hand
I pulled the aces from my sleeve ...
Discarded the marked cards dealt to me
and a raise to the dealer, was my new demand
He called my aces with a wink ...
Said boy it's time to swim or sink
Well at first I just did not understand
Then the skies cleared up in front of me ...
and everything was so serene
I knew that I was headed back to land
My ship now steered so easily ...
I owe it all, to that raging sea
that kicked my butt and caused my mind to expand
Well now that I am finally free ...
I know the secret of the sea
I bring it forth here for your your remand
When the sea is rough it's just that she ...
Is telling us with certainty
That the waters we have now entered are banned
Our ships are vessels, steered by thee ...
but obstacles are owned by the sea
to show us exactly where we stand
So steer your ship with authority ...
Just remember this last decree
If you find things aren't going towards your plan
Put your boat in some new water ....

When I referred to a place above the clouds, it wasn't a religious reference, just to clarify, or rather, confuse. :~D
I have attempted to get a grip on the wheel. Unfortunately there are some aspects of my life which so deeply engulf me that I wear these particular problems like a crust. There are no answers it seems except to hope these appendages disintegrate when global warming causes more carbon dioxide to fill the air.
