I miss him too fly ... I miss him too ... but we've got to be strong and find a way to carry on ! Pray with me brothers and sisters ... let us grieve together in honor of our brother Holo that he might hear the beckoning of our hearts and return as IAC's Prodigal Son ... I mean, Political Son and divide our hearts in unison once again.
Amen.

Holo was like a good cup of coffee, he always managed to get my blood going!
really, I suspect he's being just as intense right now, he's just doing it somewhere else.
hmmmm...I know a lot of you think the politics are not appropriate to this forum, curiously the majority of those who think that seem to vote republican!!!
HA HA!!, as I've said before, it reminds me of Pee Wee Herman with his fingers in his ears going "LA LA LA LA, I CANT HEAR YOU!!!"
And really it's because the argument for voting republican in this election just doesn't stand up to even the simplest scrutiny...
And Larree and his Goddam third party nonsense is even WORSE!!
It's like saying "I'll go ahead and let the worst executive win, but at least I'll be able to say I didn't vote for him!!"
That's so lame, yes, you are called upon to vote for someone whom you may not agree with 100%, but this is the fucking system were stuck with for now so quit your hippie shit and try to help us start heading the right direction!!!!
This is the most important election of any of our lives boys and girls, it could be the most important in American History.
We need guys like HOLO on every board making this discussion go on.

Never Never Band- I love you but I resent the term "Hippie shit". People who want a third party are hippies? Since when? Laree is no hippie and neither is Ted Nugent.
The word "hippie" is an obsolete term that has lost it's meaning because there are plenty of long haired conservatives and short haired liberals. Let's get rid of the polarizing stereo types of the past. The word is always used in a pejorative way around here. No one ever says" let's cut out the Generation X shit" because that's another silly term with no meaning. We're all in this together and I do agree that third parties are a waste of time at this point in history. Maybe someday there will be a third party that will be as strong as the other two and have better ideas but we don't have that luxury right now. And people who say both parties suck so don't vote at all are not in the so called "hippie" tradtiion as you seem to suggest. Hip people are not that cynical.

Larree, I will defend to the death your right to vote for whom ever you see fit...after all, no one currently running strikes me as fit.
Where's John Anderson (NO!, not from YES) when you really need him.

The Hippie comment was aimed RIGHT at larree...
The pot smoking libertarian!!
Which is basically a pot smoking republican who has become embarrassed by his party...
:)
the rest of the third party voters are either Gun collecting survivalist racists from deep in the forest or Pot smoking republicans who have learned to hate government because they have a little money, don't like taxes and resent the commons. (a philosophy so childish and anti social that I really cant take it seriously)
is that better?
:)
HA HA HA!
and mentioning Ted Nugent to me doesn't help your credibility, I think that guy is one of the most fucked up people on earth
seriously, I have no patience for this because you third party voters don't do the work required. You're not a political base.
If you had spent the last 8 years building a political base and presenting platforms that weren't just fairy dust, Doing the actual WORK of breaking the two party system by knocking doors and making calls and raising money for airtime I'd have a bit more respect for the phenomenon...As it is you're just spoilers who come along every election cycle and whine about shit you haven't the focus or dedication to change!!!
Where is your Goddamn Platform!! I'm right here! you don't even have to get off your ass and knock my door, so explain to me how voting libertarian in 6 weeks can possibly help the nation...
at this point in time Voting for a third party in what is decidedly a two party system is just ego, it's a way of trying to remove yourself from the consequences of political choice.
Really, this election has two ideologies pitted against each other that are so far apart, and so consequential in the long run that even if you cant find a candidate you agree with you really need to think about finding the one that is closest to your philosophy...
This is big one, and it may be close one, shit my state went for Bush by like 26 votes in 2000!!!
26 fucking votes!!!
AAARRRRRGGG!!!!

Calm down Frater P, I'm on your side! I'm just against the use of the word "hippie" to describe any kind of person that someone disagrees with. My whole point about stereo types is that Ted Nugent may seem like a "hippie" because he's a rock star but he's a flaming conservative. There's a lot of hippie-bashing around here and I know that you're too intelligent to keep using that term. It's a perjorative, discriminating generalizaton that labels people incorrectly. I totally agree with you politically, my friend. A vote for Ralph Nader was really a vote for Bush. So don't lump me in with the third party crowd. I'm also not a hippie! Peace! (uh-oh that sounded a little hippie-ish) Old habits die hard. Obama's gonna win so stop fretting.

Who needs Holo? Never has picked up the Pompous Mantle....
So glad you are so enlightened..... Why vote for a party that is Fucked up? "equally" fucked up? The dems are no better... Fricken Clinton rode the Dot Com Boom and got out just before the fucking Bubble Burst.... Both are equally Fucked up...

give me an issue Jeff.
How is it that Obama is "no better" than McCain?
Why are we talking about Clinton?
And your Dot Com Bubble philosophy doesn't explain how 8 years ago we had a surplus economy, a strong military (that was Clintons military that went to Iraq and Afghanistan bud) and the American dollar was was kicking ass, I was in Munich 8 years ago and dollars KING, I was exchanging at 1.7 marks per Dollar.
But really, lets talk the issues..
How is it that Obama is no better than McCain on,
1. energy
2. economy
3. jobs and rebuilding our manufacturing base
4. Education
5. Social Security!! (Imagine if Bush had managed to privatize!! how many retirements would have gone up in smoke this week?)
6. women's rights
You can call me Pompous all day, but your gonna need to really discuss this shit if you expect me to take you seriously.

I don't care if you take me seriously...I get that every day in the real world Brother :)
Eight years ago the dot Com Bubble burst, and the stock Market tanked. It was just after The Clintons left office. Bill received the benefit of a soaring economy built on speculation...I was just making a point that the Democrats are not immune, Clinton was just Lucky..and he has been given a free pass.
Anyway....Obama has zero qualifications to Be President, Good Public speaking may sell toasters, but it will not solve the complex mess we are in today. The Problem with Politicians is its all Rhetoric...buzz words...they seek to communicate and convince the lowest common denominator. I know... Change! no wait...Change we can believe in.!!!
Great you think your Guy has all the answers, I pray that is the case. Getting in a pissing match over who is right on "the issues" is a waste of time..in my opinion of course, especially with someone who is strongly partisan.Platforms are written to get elected and play to a base...they are usually hollow slogans. The system is Broke, the best will never be elected, and special interests will always have a hand because it takes so much fricken money to be elected. McCain is no better....he is there simply because he has earned the right, and Sarah Palin is not qualified to be a melanoma away from the Presidency.McCain admitted he does not understand Economics...that is flat out scary. especially now!!!! Biden? He is old guard, he has had his chance to change things....he is a contradiction to the whole concept. Just my Opinion...sorry for calling you Pompous.....its just seemed to fit at the time.
Good Luck to you, and enjoy the election.

I read the title of the thread, who it was by, then remembered a post by Kevin the other day.
If true, pretty damn funny, and sooooooooooooo fit's my perception of the guy.
Just found it funny, on many levels actually. Like if I saw a post saying "I miss the plague", I'd find that funny too.
Laughing is good!
