Nobody cares about Venus and Jupiter
There's supposed to be this big event where several planets line up with the moon, but I'm not going out of my way to see it. Nobody really cares about Venus and Jupiter. The whole thing is a sham.

the past few nights the view in the evening with venus, jupiter and the crescent moon all hanging in the southern sky is lovely.

I recall in the early 80s when ALL the planets lined up; a friend and I waited for something cosmic to happen.
We're still waiting....

a comet cared about Jupiter once... but it came too near and crashed 8-)
More seriously: a good thing about these cosmic events is that they give us an idea about the 3d thing, really. "Our" solar system with planets turning around a star, all within a turning galaxy with 100 billion stars (the milky way), in a universe with 100 billion galaxies... Amazing enough! So if one has the chance to catch a glimpse, one shouldn't miss it 8-)

Now if we're talking planets and astrology, Saturn matters too :)
And don't wait toooo long for it to happen folks, because you're the one who makes it happen!
