I'd like to work in a lighthouse
I'd be on duty 24/7, with my trusty alarm clock. I'd keep an eye on the schedule and sleep between ships passing by. I'd play my guitar and sing in that nice spiral echo. I'd have a really good high view of the nothingness of the ocean and life.
Somebody's got to man the lighthouse.

Yeah but wouldn't you just be stuck on the giant light the whole time it was dark... you know, like a fly?

Oh Man,Fly, didn't you realise practically all of the lighthouses are automatic these days so you'd be kinda redundant as a watch-out. I don't know if you are a wealthy Fly at all but I think you should buy a small vacant island in the middle of the ocean and have your own private lighthouse constructed. You'd be answerable to no-one there and you wouldn't need an alarm clock. I just worry if you'd be a bit restricted if you were hoping to write new songs for your guitar. Let's see....."Blue Water" "Blue Sky" "I saw a ship come sailing by" "103 steps to heaven" Hmmm....well that's me out.
You could play some oldies of course - "La Mer" "I am a rock" "Starry, starry night" "Message in a bottle" Hey I want to be a lighthouse keeper now......on the next island, we could flash each other all night.

Hi there,
speaking of lighthouses:
do you know the great song "fighting in a lighthouse", by UK band "And Also The Trees"? If not, I strongly recommend a listen 8-)

Here's a relaxin' song to listen to while you contemplate the enormity of nature.
A traditional English piece played by ye olde traditional minstrel 'Mister Potato'
