the threatening man
Doreen emerged from her apartment building and headed for the bus stop, which was about a block away. She was a slightly overweight woman in her early 50s, and was wearing a thick winter jacket which didn't help the matter. As she reached the street she saw a man probably in his 40s walking towards her at an odd angle. He was quite stout, with glasses and a green coat, and was closing the gap between them rather quickly. As he got within maybe 10 feet of her, it seemed like a collision was inevitable but then as her eyes got bigger, he stopped dead and proceeded to cut behind her and across to the far sidewalk. A few moments later, she reached the bus stop, turned around and was dismayed to see the same man again, coming across the street in her general direction. He looked a little frayed and her danger instincts were flaring up bigtime. Finally, at the moment of truth he walked past the bus stop, maybe he wasn't coming after her at all. She turned and looked thru the transparent glass shelter, curious where he was going. He was headed to the elementary school, and as he walked across the parking lot that started right there behind the bus stop, she saw a cute little girl's head pop out from the side of the school. The little girl ran towards the man and when she got to him, he gave her a hug with one arm and they started walking back towards the street. So that's where he was going. He was going to pick up his daughter from school.

Very subtle-----------I assume (and I don't like assuming) that if folks are scared enough by the media , politicians,et al, everything that goes on around them takes on a sinister or malevolent appearance----
It's a fine way to manipulate , and offer protection to these frightened souls, and get away with eroding all sorts of individual freedoms!
Re:"Fly on the Wall" -------we have a song with that very title on our site!
