The Downside of Free Will
Humans have what they call free will, and it seems like our lives are comical, tragic, a product of our mistakes and compromises. If I were to look back on my own which I try not to do often, I would curse this whole free will idea, because the state of utter confusion which I live has done nothing but show that I'm not really capable of running my life with any semblance of competence.
There you have it. Humans are too incompetent to be allowed to have free will. At least speaking for myself.

On the other hand............It's not real fun when I'm in the middle of one of my screw ups! I can get pretty down on myself and life in general. deb

I just know that I'm going to get myself into trouble with this topic. The red flags are just screaming at me to shut up. It has all of the earmarks of a religeous argument. I hope I am not offending anyone.
But.................. For one minute, can we picture the alternative? What would the world look like, feel like, be like, without free will? How would it be different? Would we even have music? Art? What kind of music and art? People? What would they be like? Without my "Will" am I even me?
If someone, like God, gave us free will, then why would we be punished for something that was given to us by "God?"
Shut up Debbie and go back to work?

Free Will is a blessing! Along with it it comes "Responsibility" The Responsibility to try to make the world a better place, the Responsibillty to admit mistakes and make amends, the Responsibility to not "Blame" someone else for your bad luck or Lot in Life. Free will may be free, but one is not free of responsibility or consquences.
I thank God I live in America where I am free to express myself, free to choose an occupation, free to choose a mate, free to live where I want, free to be lazy, free to fail, and free to succeed....Free to be me! and in the end, where I end up..., the friends and family I leave behind, how those remember me ....will be the result of my "free will" and the choices I have made along the way.Treat your free will as a precious resource!
