Long Shadows (dark lyrics)
------------remember Aqualung Jethro Tull
LONG SHADOWS
Long Shadows, twist and turn
Long Shadows, Make me squirm
Long Shadows, follow me home
I scream at the door
Please leave me alone
Long Shadows, they think that it's love
Sent to them, from high above
Long Shadows, playing their game
Preying on their victim with no name
No Name, that's who they are
Bound up with tape, in the boot of a car
Long Shadows playing their game
Driving the townsfolk slowly insane
No Name is sweating with fear
Screaming in her mind for someone to hear
Remembering her life as a little girl
Spending her last hours in this world
Long shadows, twist and turn
Long shadows, make me squirm
Long Shadows, follow me home
I shout at the door why won't you leave me alone
Long Shadows---

Hi guys thanks
Richard this is that 'Allegro' tune you tempted me with the words
up tempo
a while back?
this is derivative of "the Nobody" which has done well for us similar chord structure but much more Rocky --

Rob ~ Go for the gusto, my friend. Writing about the demons can keep them at bay.

Writing about demons identifies what constitutes demons.
I would love to believe they're kept at bay, but that never seems to happen ... for everyday the demons show up and do the harm they do.

Writing about demons identifies what constitutes demons.
in a word
yes!!
I would rather write a really cool love song----but my muse disagrees?
says I have to serve out my apprenticeship first!!

Finally the song is ready for release
We finished the final mix in the wee small hours-
hope it strikes a chordsomewhere???
THE PREDATOR preying on the victim with no name
this song was written the week two young women disappeared in new zealand, one was found dumped down a ravine a few weeks later, the others body has yet to be found, this type of crime is becoming "normal" lately as the predatory nature of society is given full reign

I was referring to one's personal demons being kept at bay when they're written about because bringing them out into the open makes them seem less threatening like when you face your fears head on. I didn't realize that Rob was talking about actual murderers in real life. Kevin is correct that those types of demons will unfortunately always exist.

Thanks Richard
I DO get that writing about personal demons makes them smaller somehow--or releases some pressure
In this song-- the protaganist (singer) may also be the stalker---so you are correct
"long shadows follow me home"
the more we see this stuff on the news ---the more likely we will see copycat crimes IMO
