the new "Hairdressers"
This is the song we are best known for in our own country----
the 4track version has been in the top 1000 since we joined IAC and was #1 in live performances for 15 weeks!
However, we felt it was time to re record digitally----with multiple vocal tracks---
Basically it has changed the "feel " of the song ---------------------Jakes lead has matured, but it loses some dynamics from a lucky recording accident on the live version---, we placed the mike too close to the lead amp (but it worked)
Anyways this is the 2008 version hot from the studio----I hope you like it!

thank you Debs for the add to Soul Retrieval 2 ! and Ray (Rays New Songs)
I listen to those stations, when I am online, so it's exciting to have some of our songs among the great Artists from IAC!
We all had a turn --------the boys have known this one for years, so it just evolved, Jake put on some falsetto, and I liked his lead solo a lot-----however I have had comments that prefer the original------and that's fine ----but we had to have another crack as we did the original 10 years back!

Hey Rob,
I took a listen to both versions. I love the guitar effect and the multi- vocals in the new version. The guitar sounds like a hollow body electric?
The original version is sweet too.
We are really do some of the same things.
My Song Abececedarians Plight was done in 1996 and then done again in A-plight remix this year.
You also had your original done in the 1990's and remade it.
We had a close song theme going in my "would you mind" thread.
Good to hear some more of your stuff
Cheers.

Ken ---Yes that's something I've been pondering------ we do have a connecting influence which I first noticed when I listened to your lyrics on the abc (alphabet song) we can't resist being (clever?) with words----although 'clever' not quite the right word------
I have always loved language and I try to use words in an interesting way ----I absolutely loathe the dumbing down of language-----I believe it takes away peoples power when they use cliches all the time---and that is what is happening for sure!
Tahks for your feedback--I'm soooooooo used to the old version----------- heh

Hey Rob,
I know what you mean about being used to the old version. When I first got the new guitar tracks done for me by the "special guest" lead guitar player on A-Plight remix I was not really sure if I liked it. Now after a few months I do really enjoy it. My remake has a harder edge than the original. Its raw and gritty which I like.
Your remake seems a little lighter with the muti-vocal and the more effects on guitar does not have the same puch as the original. Believe me the remake is good. I don't pull punchs and I don't BS. Your remake will grow on you.
Cheers,
TSC
