Boar hunting song--------
This is a tongue in cheek view of pig hunting----------------which is a common task for young men in Marlborough NZ--------------usually involves a team of dogs which find the pigs--------and often get lost along the way----------hunters often spend a lot more time looking for their dogs, than hunting Boar.
It is neccessary to cull these wild boar as they come out of the bush in spring, and eat young lambs and rip up the pasture with their tusks-------------
As a farmer, and an animal lover, I have a foot in both camps!!!
Ready to Go
We were two dogs short up the valley
Waiting for the rain to fall
Leo and me hidin' under a tree
The wonder of it all
And the boar was stuck
And back on the truck
But no sign of Jess or Joe
The weather closin' in

With a possum up a tree

Were trying to keep up
With the bitch
Well, the bitch caught the pig

Scratched by gorse

thanks to the stations who have picked up this song--------------we were a bit unsure if it would offend some folk here!
New Zealand is a wonderful place for animals---------- generally people here are animal lovers with common sense!
Pid hunters love their dogs and will spend huge ammounts of time looking for them in the bush if they get separated----------we wrote this to poke a bit of fun at this, as it is a popular pasttime among young men, --------and some young women!!!

Wild Boar hunting sounds fun. At least a Boar runs faster than a Moose. Hunting Moose can be compared to hunting Volkswagen Beatles.
I've seen video of Wild Boar, and they run pretty darn fast. Makes for a challenging shot ;)
I'm not a big time hunter, I've never even shot a Whitetail before - but I do like Grouse hunting.

thanks mate-----------you crack me up with the moose hunting / V W comparison!
Leo (my boy) had 2 VW Kombis on our front lawn for about a year, despite bucket loads of money and time, we never got one decent vehicle on the road----------you may think I'd enjoy shooting a V W , and you'd be 100% right!!!!

That's cool.
I almost bought one of those modified VW / Dune Buggy's once. A guy I ran into had 2 of them out in HIS front lawn too ;) But then I changed my mind and figured I'd get my motorcycle fixed instead.
They look fun - and out in Nevada they have some HUGE sand dunes to blaze in.
