VIP Gig
All our songs fell out of the competition yesterdaybut some have been put back lol!!!
gutting but-!!
I had a VIP gig in town last night
Opening a New Building called "Marlborough House"
containing the Migrants centre and several other NGOs (non Govt Organisations)
Just me and my accoustic guitar- played classical and jazz
Guests were Govt. Minister for Arts and Culture
Race relations Boss (for NZ)
Chief of Police
Mayor and councillors
Head of District Council
VIPs
and all their entourages
I played classical guitar for most of it then threw in some covers

Wonderful World
Hey Jude
Love me Tender
City of New Orleans
Country Road
Got my Pic taken for the newspapers and all !!
Hope to get more gigs from these Geezers LOL

Its hard to imagine this audience. I hope you enjoyed yourself. With a crowd like that I always think it is a good idea to try and tell a few jokes. Some people take themselves far to seriously. I have always held to the saying, if you believe your own advertising, your cactus.

Great to hear, Rob. I usually don't hang with the 'toffs' but, when it comes to paying gigs, it helps to go where the money is.

The Bunnies think that you should get together with Vinny and nigel and play a Waltzing Matildabunny cover collabowation down under, as deep as possible so we can feel the vibwations in USA. You must be nearly as famous over there as we are over here. Are you big down under Robbie?

Sounds like a pretty classy gig. Were your covers instrumentals or did you suddenly belt out Hey Jude in the midst of a classical set? I like your choices.
And was Country Road the John Denver "Country Roads" or James Taylor's "On a Country Road" or possibly some Kiwi favorite I'm unfamiliar with?

No one appears to listen but i saw feet tapping and had eye contact, and quite a few
came and thanked me at the end---

just trying to cheer myself after half our songs disappeared from the comp.
