Aaliyah, Death Metal, Everyone's dead, Election Time!
So, with reruns of the "Queen of the Damned" movie, we are reminded of just how great the too-early-to-die Aaliyah was. She was great in that movie, the saving grace of it, in fact. The way she moved, the seductive vision of her, the personification of greedy evil life-sucking primeval oneness. Truly great acting.
And the movie was centered around a sort of death metalish rock music, centered on Lestat, the too-tired to live (since, well, he's dead) nightmarish star (better protrayed by Tom Cruise, who I can't stand to watch in any other movie than "Interview With a Vampire") who bared to all the existence of evil (vampires) to the world. Well, there's the music hook for this post.
The Queen of the Damned wants to kill everyone, everyone, drain them dry, they are nothing but food to her, that is their only purpose. So, she leaves a wake of dead, rotting flesh, in a vision of nothing but dead swollen carcasses from sea to shining sea.
Hey! It's sort of how people envision the result of this election! No matter which candidate you support. Either can be seen as the Queen.
How's it feel to expect the triumph of evil in the next 4 years (or sooner).
Anyhow, Aaliyah was great in that. You should watch it for her, if nothing else.

Yes, dshe was a geat artist for sure. Never did see that movie but I have ut it on my radar for the next time it comes around. She did some really good music videos also. Aaliyah was so awesome and she dide sway too soon. Her voice was incomparable. Her style was smoked out urban funkness filled with unique vocal runs and stylings. Her looks were amazing. she was so hot! Yes, I agree that she had some truly star filled qualities about her.
Much Respect and RIP Aaliyah
