Reading comments on the web nearly anywhere is extremely depressing
That certainly applies to any news sites that still allow them. Sites voting comments up or down do help, at least the worst ones are at the bottom or greyed out. It's a disappointing view of humanity you get, though, on ANY mass site that allows discussion of politics, or news.
Discussion here is quite tame, really. Nothing for anyone to get their panties in a wad about.

Perception is always in the eyes of the beholder. When you say tame I wonder compared to what? I would say that wishing someone gets cancer and dies is not a tame thing to see in any light. I have unfortunately watched severalk people die from cancer and I would not wish that on my worst enemy. It also depends on how strongly the people reading it feel about it. When Mr. Trump implies that veterans with PTSD are weak, he is hitting way below the belt on an issue he has no knowledge about. Until you are out there fighting for your life you cannot accurately make such statements. As a veteran with PTSD I got really upset with that claim and I would be upset here if someone were to say it is true. It is not true! Veterans who have been under the line of fire see stuff that no human being should ever see. Mass casualties, bodies dismembered, friends beheaded, mass graves, bombs exploding, fire raining from the sky. Any or all of these things can cause someone to have PTSD. It has nothing to do with their strength. If someone were to make that assertion here I would have to take my gloves off and and get deeply involved. It would not be a tame confrontation. I took lives and almost lost my own so I consider that issue an untamed issue. Maybe it is tame for you because you enjoy that kind of shit but for a lot of us, this is not tame at all. Some of the things you have written in the past were not tame by any means. Tame would mean that no one got upset about them. But people do get upset about your posts. So, imo they are not tame. Neither are a lot of other discussions here. It has always been a volatile warning to see that Holo or you has posted something new. That is because we all know that a new fight is about the be conjured up when you guys get in the mix. If you two were sensored there would probably a lot less litteral skirmishes here. Once again it all comes down to perception. One persons tame is another persons tempest. An old friend of mine actually had a heart attack and died while having an online political discussion. Some of us take our politics very seriously. He did! Others just throw catch phrases and irritating antidotes at people without considering how that may make them feel. You know? The old Fuck Political Correctness line that you like to use. Then you go in deep with an insult that you know is meant to inflame and cause anger. You are very good at that. Probably the best on this website. But there is nothing tame about you or some of the things you preach. That is why some people here get so upset with you. If it was tame, no one would give a shit about it.

Yeah, that is possible but Dan has had his moments around here also. I say that because there have been moments he has written stuff that I would have punched him for if he was in front of me. But yeah, compared to Larree, he is a saint.........

The "much respect" was meant towards Raandy because he has always been cool with me. Dan on the other hand? Well.............I cannot tell a lie. I'm not a fan of his but I suspect that he is not a fan of mine either. Life evens itself out like that.

It is too bad that some of us only see inflammatory if one side is being inflammatory. I know I can start it up, but some of you do not realize that you can do a pretty good job of starting it up, too.
