I would like to start a station...
to start a station, but with a special format. I would like to add video comments to each song that I add. In other words, I would like a video embedded in each song in the list for the station.
Without pouring over html (which I am perfectly capable of doing, but too lazy to do it without asking the easy question first) to see if I can rig that,
Is that possible with the present station setup?
If not, hey? When are video features to be added here? At least the ability to link to a video on say yes, the dreaded YouTube embedded in a station. I think that would be perfectly neat, and a great draw for the site.
I don't consider this a support question, and I'm not complaining. Just thought it might be of general interest.

Good idea.
I'd love to own a video cmaera that couds sync to sound, but know nothing about it.
Could be a real technical burden for IAC I guess but it's either grow or shrink -- nothing stays the same in business.

I happen to know that IAC has video in its plans.
I'm not asking for immediate implementation of that, though.
I'd just like to be able to link a video (somewhere else, so no drain on IAC bandwidth) in a song de_scription in a station. Haven't looked at the code, but since I don't see it being done, I assume it doesn't work. Dunno, though. Amazing things can be done through analyzing the html. Set me straight on that. Work for me. :) :) :)

Artists come in all forms and types. We can't fall behind the times now, can we? I'm game to go out and spend a cool grand on a video camera.

Dude, it only takes a webcam, hahahaha. I don't have a grand for that, either. OK, I don't even have a great. Or a pretty good. I do have a decent.

I thought I could do some funny commercials advertizing my tunes.
Hey, I could actually do that on my camera phone, right? Short snippets......

I know this is frowned upon, but saw one of LyinDans posts from forever ago and really liked the concept. brilliant. probably can be done. but unlikely as this is 9 years later or something. Sorry about leaping over new posts, i was just intrigued with the whole concept. maybe someday we will have streaming video veejay programs here doing interviews, skyping interactive things. you know, it make the place a hit.

so send me an email. :) The reason we don't like site suggestions on the pipeline is because everytime we get one I basically have to answer the way I respond in the next paragraph and all that does is make us look bad.
These things are really difficult to accomplish unless I went back to school to learn programming which I have no plans to do. If anyone can find us a volunteer for this sort of thing, let me know. or wants to make a large donation to cover the cost.
Sorry.

I know Scott, it was a thought, i know it is impossible at this stage, or ever, not that i expect it to happen. I like the site the way it is. but Dans idea just caught my attention as i scrolled through his previous posts. You all do a fab job the way it is here. it is the best place and with the interactive blog, artist pages and stations, not much touches it for versatility.
cheers

As far as I know, which isn't much admittedly since I don't make stations,
I'm guessing you could put a link in there at least, no?
Where you have text describing the song? No?
But just so I've asked,
Mr Time,
what sort of large donation are we talking exactly,
would it take, if indeed the song blurb capability in song descriptions
in stations has presently no capacity for HTML code?
Not saying I can do it, I am poor as spit, as I've said before.
That said, starving once, beats starving all the time,
perhaps I could save up for it. Your thoughts, Sir?
Is there in fact no HTML capability in the station song descriptions?
As there is in fact HTML capability in the artist song descriptions,
at least I know one can embed a video there, if one uses the 'embed'
code and not the 'share' code, a thing which initially confused and vexed me.
If you prefer to respond in private to this inquiry, you may email me,
you have my addresses.
God Bless, Much Love, ~Lesley

Lyin' Dan.
There is actually something else I just thought of.
And it requires no amount of coding change or money I don't have.
Instead of doing your idea as a Station...
You do it as a post on the Pipeline.
Here, I know for a fact, you can embed videos, links, photos, no problem.
That would work.
Okay, my work here is done.
Till next time, whenever that may be,
maybe months from now. Less is more with me.

Correction:
Not as a 'post' but as in fact a "Thread" which you start. There we are.
