Debut of new album
Hi folks. Finally finished my third album, entitled "Genesee". It's the name of the river that runs through my valley...from the Pennsylvania hills north to Rochester, NY and Lake Ontario. It is an instrumental album that features native american flutes and traditional Appalachian mountain stringed instruments. It is a collection of soundscapes that tries to generate imagery of the valley from 10,000 B.C to present. I have posted the first three tracks on my page and you are invited to stop by for a listen. Thanks!

Thanks Todd. I don't expect anything special to come of it. Those days are long gone. My music these days is all about being creative and having fun in my studio.
A quality album is a better artifact from my walk on this Earth than a pile of empty beer cans.
Your page looks very interesting and i will check out your tunes asap.

Thanks for responding.

Hey Pinedog,
I'm just playing your tunes now. Really enjoying the sounds you've got there. And the quality of the recording. I've been to that part of the States. I have friends in Rochester and I've been to The Finger Lakes. Beautiful and historically interesting. How about that Erie Canal eh?

Enjoy the creative ride. It gives us old guys a spring in our step, and that's enough reason right there to do what we do.

John

P.S. I can relate to "Born in 1950".

hi John...Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a listen. Much appreciated. Small world i guess...not many folks from your neck of the woods ever heard of the Finger Lakes. Beautiful area. Rochester is about a 90 minute drive for me. As for the Erie Canal...makes my back hurt just thinking about how they dug that thing!
Stopped by your page and listened to quite a few. Liked Oh Oh Oh alot...Nat sings well with you. Just LOVED One Shot. Killer tune with nice playing and super tones....and that gal can really sing. Had to listen to Man of Constant sorrow being the hillbilly that i am. Excellent, creative version...really enjoyed it. Your music is great...so i was surprised you had so few comments on your page. Then i checked other folks pages...including the "top of the charts" artists and the forum regulars. Same story. Folks just don't communicate here alot i guess. I'm not a big "social" guy but feedback from fellow artists and listeners is helpful in many ways. Anyhow, thanks for stopping and never hesitate to let me know when you post a new tune.

... well the internet tends to be voyeuristic, more than a free-for-all, two-way street kind of thing. Unless you're on an anonymous forum where you can spout off and hide behind an alias.

But here at IAC we're all real people, easily identifiable, and traceable so we tend to keep to ourselves. It's not easy breaking the ice.

So I don't really put much stock in who is commenting back. I just put my thoughts out there, and songs, and figure it's like the mail order pitch. If you get a response rate of 1:100 (or whatever) that's enough to know you're not whistling in the dark.

Thanks for listening to my songs.... BTW, my son worked for a judge in Geneseo for a summer. You guys sure get the fall colours eh?
