Cult Musical Comedy Classics
These movies have several things in common:- they are all musical/comedy cult classics AND they all have in common:
1. A train scene
2. A "Keystone Cops" scene
3. An elevator scene
Plus of course plenty of music! (And laughs)
1. "A Hard Day's Night"
Watch for:
1. The first part of the movie is set on a train.
2. The police chasing Paul's grandad.
3. When Paul's grandad rises onto the stage during the concert.
2. "The Blues Brothers"
Watch for:
1. The scene in Elwood's apartment. The "El" train runs right outside.
2. ALL the classic police chases!
3. The elevator scene in the Richard Daley building.
3. "The Commitments"
Watch for:
1. The band singing "Destination Anywhere" on a train.
2. The shot horse in an attempted bank robbery.
3. The boy taking a horse into an elevator at the tenement block.
4. "O Brother Where Art Thou?"
This one's a bit esoteric. Watch for:
1. The train scene when they first escape
2. The exploding ammunition wagon during the seige.
3. The "Stairway to Heaven" (ok that's stretching it a bit I know!)
5. "Spinal Tap"
These guys just have to be different. So in the outtakes that come with the movie watch for:
1. "All the Way Home" - the first song the boys wrote together.
2. Derek Smalls being searched by airport security.
3. Two elevator scenes!
