Ella's story
My first band was at highschool, when I was about 16. "So kid, what do you wanna sing?". I had just heard this really cool band on the radio, called The Who, so I suggested we'd play some of their stuff. In spite of the early virtuoso of some, the band decided to play some of The Who's earlier and easier to play R&B songs, like I Can't Explain, Legal Matter and Summertime Blues (for obvious reasons Pictures Of Lily was less suitable). The band allready played Roxanne by The Police, so I had to sing that too. A bit weird for a girl, but no one seemed to care. At my first live performance I was shaking like a leaf, but the crowd seemed to appreciate what I did, so after I Can't Explain and Legal Matter I managed to screamsing Roxanne and then got my first applause. From that moment on I knew that I was gonna be a Singer.

These days I love to drive in my car with the music turned pretty loud. What music more suitable than the good old Who songs?! I still know most of the lyrics, so I sing along no matter how odd that must seem to passers-by. And even though I haven't quite developed myself as a Rock Chick - Eleonora's Holiday lacks the jamming guitars - in my car I allow myself to still be a Wholiganette.

Last summer at the festival in Ulm I was finally able to hear and see my liftetime heroes perform live for the first time in my life. Their opening song? I Can't Explain.... I could actually feel a smile in my belly!

"I Can't Explain, I think it's love...".

Hi,

a lot of Who fans around here. Pete himself actually appeared on our first Golden Kayak Awards show.

My last band did the Who Song Another Tricky Day. And a medley that included Behind Blue Eyes.

I might add that Tommy and A Quick One are my 2 favorite workout records of all time.
