brian wilson - 'that lucky old sun'
wow!
just got back to norway from england, i was lucky enough to witness the debuting of brian wilson's new suite 'that lucky old sun', and i have to say it is phenomenal...
to the doubters who said brian is shot, that he hasn't got anything left to offer - i say: "BRIAN IS BACK!"
the music was wonderful, the harmonies sublime, the arrangements devilishly clever and van dyke's interludes were just charming.
if you are lucky enough to get tickets (i believe they are still available) go, go, go... it is totally worth it, and brian seems happier and more confident than ever...

smile worked out amazing in the end, and 'lucky old sun' isn't so different, in many ways its more cohesive and certainly suits brian's 'new voice' better...
have you heard it? has anyone here heard it yet?

Hi GC, It should have been called "That lucky old SON" Who'd have thought Brian would be the last remaining Wilson, and who'd have ever thought he would be touring and performing at this level. Glad he seemed happy and confident because the last time I saw him live he seemed stilted and nervous. What's the new stuff like then?

good news, indeed...
'midnight was very similar too the version on the web site, but '...surfer girl' was much better live...
can't wait for the live dvd and studio album that are certain to follow.
