Echos of Yor (ring no more)
Echos of Yor (ring no more)
echos keep bouncing off the inside of my head
the memories of all the things that we never did
like a dark cloud that lingers but never brings the rain
all these second chances that well never have again
Your gone into the great beyond and sailed the seven seas
we are left here on the beach head in our misery
each wave takes with it another grain of sand
just how many grains are left before there is no place left to stand
are we are fools longing for what could have been
picking at the scab that makes us bleed crimson
it seems a its just few drops as it trickles to the floor
when we look down we see the puddle form
Your gone into the great beyond and sailed the seven seas
we are left here on the beach head in our misery
each wave takes with it another grain of sand
just how many grains are left before there is no place left to stand
Don't tell me about tomorrow and fill my mind with dreams
The nightmare that is today has filled the air with screams
when at last the screams are gone the silence is far worse
some say each days a blessing but these days they seem a curse
Your gone into the great beyond and sailed the seven seas
we are left here on the beach head in our misery
each wave takes with it another grain of sand
just how many grains are left before there is no place left to stand

OK I really like the line "each wave takes with it another grain of sand
just how many grains are left before there is no place left to stand"

Thanks Shoe city sound and Lyin Dan
I think my favorite lines are:
"are we are fools longing for what could have been
picking at the scab that makes us bleed crimson"
and
"each wave takes with it another grain of sand"
"just how many grains are left before there is no place left to stand"
I won't go into too much detail but I will say these were written in a recent time of the parting of a loved one.
I will also say if either of you want to use the lyrics in a song you are welcome to do so.
Two Silo Complex,
Ken

I'll take a shot at it next week after the holiday.
No promises though. :)
Does it have to be word for word or can I add or subtract as needed?

Steve,
Its an honor. Add, subtract, take any parts that suit you bend it to your will so that it may live where others have parted.

Those lyrics are wonderful. They strike me as poignant but subtle, if that makes any sense.

Thank you Shaz b and Silverwood
Its been too difficult for me to try to perform it but it might be in a minor key and probably is.
Theses dark times I'm cast upon the wind. Each new breath dashes me on the rocks again.
If anyone wants to take a swing at these in whole or in part you are welcome do do so.

Thank you for your kind words Marc. The response to this has been warm and I thank each of you for taking the time and appreciating these words for what they are and how they fall.

It's working out really well! Yes I did have to make some lyric changes but I won't post them till I have a rough draft with vocals to post so I'll keep you all in suspense!

I revised my lyrics slightly and created a bridge after hearing Steve's version which is fantastic.
Echos of Yor (ring no more)
These echos keep bouncing off the inside of my head
with the memories of all the things that we never did
like a dark cloud that lingers but never brings the rain
and all these second chances that well never have again
Your gone into the great beyond and sailed the seven seas
we are left here on the beach head in our misery
each wave takes with it another grain of sand
how many grains are left ...
before there's .... no place left to stand
Echos of Yor we can't ignore
Echos of Yor ring no more
are we are fools longing for what could have been
picking at the scars that make us bleed so red
seems its just few drops as it trickles to the floor
but when we look down we see the puddle form
Your gone into the great beyond and sailed the seven seas
we are left here on the beach head in our misery
each wave takes with it another grain of sand
how many grains are left ...
before there's .... no place left to stand
Echos of Yor we can't ignore
Echos of Yor ring no more
Don't tell me about tomorrow fill my mind with dreams
The nightmare that is today has filled the air with screams
when at last the screams are gone the silence is far worse
some say each days a blessing but some days they seem a curse
Your gone into the great beyond and sailed the seven seas
we are left here on the beach head in our misery
each wave takes with it another grain of sand
how many grains are left ...
before there's .... no place left to stand
how many grains are left ...
before there's .... no place left to stand
