Ken, you've done it again. You hold a mirror up to the original and indulge the other side of the complex emotions presented in it. "Smiling through the mourning"; Todd's original was the sound of the forced smile, this is the mournful undercurrent. A great reinvention of one of my favourite songs on IMP.

Thank you Mike for the kind words.
I am grateful to artist like Todd, yourself, and Shane Willard among others who allow me the artistic freedom to take their original song and turn it on its head.
In Todd's Original version he say's "smiling through the morning" I adapted it to be "Smiling through the mourning" because its clear the character in this song is hiding his true feelings to put on a brave face, while he grimaces to get through the day.
In another verse Todd says "it'd make you reel reel reel" which puts in perspective how great the characters suffering is that if you walked a mile in his shoes your be taken aback from the tragic experience.
I adapted that line to be "It'd make you real real real" meaning that if instead of putting on a false pretense if the listener could experience all this character has had to gone through that would indeed make it and them real instead of living in a fantasy where its all fake smiles.
