PART 1: Don't Do what I DID!!!!! Lesson in how NOT to maximize your hits!
Hello IACMUSIC Community, My name is PHLEGM and I'm a DUMB-ASS! We joined IAC under my stage-name, PHLEGM, and then my band said we should do it as CONVERSATION SUICIDE (Duh!!).
SO guess what I did? I put our BEST TUNE up under PHLEGM, before we realized how amazing IACMUSIC was. So NOW we're MINIMIZING the potential for HITS on our lovely alterna-metal tune, IN HIS HEAD, since SOME stations have it up under PHLEGM and some under out band name CONVERSATION SUICIDE. Doh!!!
The cool thing that makes my little heart go pitter-patter, is that the CONVERSATION SUICIDE version of IN HIS HEAD went to the top 7 of HARD ALTERNATIVE Charts... so far. Plus, the PHLEGM version (that I originally threw up on IAC) went to, like, #29 on the IAC BIG 50!
UHHH.... here's what SUCKS. BOTH versions are ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL! With lead and backup vocals by me, and guitars/drums/bass by the rest of the band (former members). SO, what I'm trying to do is first of all: CONVINCE y'all that it's a bitchin' tune, and secondly see if IACMUSIC has anyway to COMBINE the TWO stats into ONE!
IF not then, that's the way the cookie crumbles... We're just gonna try to get the first stations that noticed IN HIS HEAD to KEEP our tune, but as CONVERSATION SUICIDE, not PHLEGM.
Pretty amazingly stupid, eh? Either way, que sera sera.... AND don't forget to check out our original tunage. We're quite proud of it, especially me, obviously, since I couldn't WAIT to put IN HIS HEAD up on IAC under the BAND name.
SO: the moral of the story is--- DON'T put stuff that you wrote up on IAC under your name as an ARTIST, if your BAND wants it up there as the whole BAND.
-the slightly absent-minded professor of CONVERSATION SUICIDE, PHLEGM

Personally, and this is just me mind you :) Is I don't believe you should be able to combine the hits of two separate bands/artists with the same song. This creates an unfair advantage in statistics. I have no doubt if I created another page with an interesting band name, and posted the exact same songs as my Artist page I would get extra song hits. Anyway my two cents! :) Good Luck!

Jeff, this is just a special case situation. Bam offered to do that cause this was basically a support issue we could fix. Most of the hits under the Phlegm band came when the band was on the Big 50 which was months ago and this wouldn't affect the current charts at all anyway. If people started to use this to do tom-foolery with their chart status, believe me, we wouldn't accomodate them.
