You Were Meant for Me/ Dear Prudence
The young woman in this YouTube is the daughter/brother of my sound engineers. I played the local circuit in a trio with her dad for years, and can recall her mom bringing her to our gigs. She was this adorable little 8 year old who used to just sit and watch us perform. It's hard to believe that she has grown to an age where she beautifully graces the stage herself. As Fr Time says in another thread.. time flies.
Enjoy.

Nice, soothing performance!
Btw, I like the cover of "Dear Prudence" by Siouxie and The Banshees, too 8-)

I like how she has to look at the paper to sing along "Dear Prudence" She is probably thinking wow, this is an "old" song :) The Guitar player's voice sounds a bit "High" for this song as Lennon is etched on the brain, but it's good. He is tuning to a drop D at the beginning... This is a fun song to play, and its another "Travis Picking" song by John. I use the style on my Song "Mother Mary" (Just a little synergy here :)
Thanks for sharing, she has grown up to be a beautiful young lady. She should get up off the chair tho :)
Regards,
Jeff

I'll thank you for her Magnet :)
Jeff, you're welcome. She really is a beauty. She told me about the performance before I saw it and the concept was to be that she was thinking of *him* as she was singing *You Were Meant for Me*, while *he* was singing the letter he'd written to *her* (she was *Dear Prudence*). As he was singing, she was *reading his letter*. If I didn't know that ahead of time I probably might have thought she was reading the words too :)
I've never played the song, but I liked how he did it. I'll need to go listen to Mother Mary, as I've missed that one of yours. And speaking of mothers...
..how's your mom doing?

Thanks for asking Lace...she is in Hospice care now, a really nice lady comes to her house daily to check on her and administer Morphine. We are now just trying to keep her as free of pain as possible. I spent last weekend with her, she has her good days and bad...She is awake and coherent, but sometimes she just sleeps...I wish I could do more, she is now in God's Hands.
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff,
I can't begin to imagine the pain you are going through. I have yet to lose a parent, but my mother-in-law died this year and she was very ill before she passed. I took care of her for awhile before she got too ill to stay with us. It's hard.
Hospice is wonderful, for both the patient and the family. She is in God's hands, and my prayers.
