I put up a new song. Finally!! OK, it's only a cover..and..
.. a Christmas song to boot.. but.. not being a songwriter I'LL USUALLY ALWAYS PUT UP A COVER! :D
I added my remake of Little Drummer Boy to my artists page, but will also be adding it to a new artists page I've put up with my long time singing partner, Deb Costanzo. We're waiting for the final mix for her song ('nuther Christmas song, 'nuther cover).

I'll post another blog when Deb's song is up and running....

Your voice Lace,is so pure and beautiful on this tune. I like the subtle build up in instruments and backup vocals too. It's a wonderful rendition of a classic Christmas song. I love it!

John, thank you SO much for your words, your opinion is valued by me, truly!! I programmed that song a good 13 years ago (at least) for my sister's Christmas wedding. As the season came upon us I pulled it out and dusted it off. My sound guys were in a lull and, viola, the vocals got recorded in time for this season. But again, thank you.
Sam my man, thank YOU SO much too!! Vocally, I was shooting for the innocence of a child. I hoped I acheived that. It's one of my fav Christmas tunes too. One more *is* coming for this Christmas. My longtime singing partner, Deb Costanzo, did the vocals on First Noel. I programmed that music at the same time as Drummer Boy. We are waiting for the sound guys to do that final mix and it will be posted asap. I'll post them both at the artists page I made for her and I... Cover Girls

Lace, this is the best version of an Xmas song I've ever heard and I usually avoid them because they lack all heart and soul but this performace has tons of heart and soul. It's the real deal. Your voice is obviously very versatile and angelic. If you can make a Xmas song sound authentic and real, you can do anything!

Thanx Colin!
Wow Richard, thank you too. I know all I've got the talent to do (at least up till now) is cover other artists. But the songs I do chose, strike a chord in me. I feel them deep, and I guess that has to count for something. I actually programmed Little Drummer Boy around 14 years ago for my sister's Christmas wedding. I struggled for composure performing it there because I got lost in what it would feel like to be standing in a poor child's sandals offering up the only thing he had.
I also chuckled Ray when you said you didn't like the song. I've heard that before, one pointed time just after the wedding, when this big hulk of a guy approached me and said basically the same as you did. Then he claimed it made him cry.
This is why music is so precious. Any why musicians have something that most others don't. The ability to communicate strait to the heart, with or without words. That aesthetic feeling that comes just because a string slips in between the piano and the bass in just such a way, because 2 voices meet and melt in mid air, because a horn wails in the background. The ability to be moved, and to move someone emotionally. No amount of money can buy that.
Am I right?

Whoops, I thought I was on my Lace account. I meant to post from Cover Girls first in a new topic. I'll do that and introduce my partner Deb now.
