You made me dash to my dictionary for this one zrosemarie as I'd heard of "encaustic art" but didn't know what it involved. From your example I was guessing something graphic but it seems that it's much older than that. Apparently there are examples in ancient Egyption tombs. So it's all about hot wax, pigment and wood and tools and brushes. Your graphic presentation really enhances it. Now I want to have a go myself.
Welcome to IAC by the way and welcome too to Mark Wirtz producer of some great songs and artists now showing here and already in the IAC Hitline and on many Stations. Rosemarie is our link to this 'ot to be missed' band page (or try Teddy Bear Picnic Station)

No not really - I have had a go at batik.
With Encaustic Art - you melt special wax onto a special little iron and just iron a peice of shinny card - I love it because it is random and you can never predict what the results will look like
