Day 6 locked in studio
Been sleeping on the couch in the control room, ordering food, etc. I didn't even leave or go out to watch fireworks last night. I heard sirens and what sounded like a war zone. I regret not recording it. Oh well.
I haven't had the opportunity to spend this kind of time with a musical project since the 90s. I'm really excited to wrap this project, but at the same time, the journey has been a true adventure and I know I am going to look back at this summer with fond recollection. The atmosphere here is dripping with creative energy, and as I approach the finish line, my heart sinks a little, knowing what comes next requires different protocol. I will be raising money, filing papers, paying out, promoting and all the shit that is not running around in the clothes I wore yesterday contemplating musical theory and how many of those rules I am allowed to break.
I started this project about 8 weeks ago. I started with absolutely no material or idea of what would happen, I forgot to consider that going through the process is often the best part of the project, and that this right now, this is the life.
