Behind the scenes,..
It's those little things, like glitchy pops and crackles that once you begin chasing the source, unleashes the contents of pandora'a box.

I thought, "I want to redo my patchbay, I could set this up so much better".
So, I start by unplugging everything and begin coiling and organizing all of the cables.
My OCD kicks in real quick. I find myself loathing the odd lengths and differing groups of cables, I want this shit tight and right. - fine, sorting ensues.
After literally 20+ hours of arranging and brainstorming, a plan emerges and I put everything (components) in their new places and plugging in and routing the cables when I realize I do not have enough cables.
Well, I am broke, not even nickels to rub together, but I have a tub full of defunct and noisy cables, so I break out the spaghetti mess from hell and many hours of sorting resumes.
That was the day before yesterday and I have since clipped, twisted, cut, soldered and assembled nearly two dozen custom cables.
I still need more.

If anybody needs tips or tricks on balanced, unbalanced, xlr, trs, two wire, tip/ring/sleeve configurations, soldering techniques, etc., hit me up.

Bloody hell Fred you've got a million percent more patience than i've got..Serious kudos to you..Really admire your dedication n tenacity sorting it and being so creative with no money..
I've got no ability with that kinda thing at all - and no real practical knowledge
In some ways i'm a child of the digital recording age -'cos i'd've had no ability to record my music to any quality analoge if the only choice i had was patch bays etc like in the old days..You just need too much practical skill for that..

No, he is a plodder, he waits for that right moment. inspiration, the process he thinks deeply about his projects, then when ready, watch out. I like his material. unique, interesting, outside of the norm and he stretches the limits. I find his works quite creative. what about you? anymore then like one liners. or is that all you got

I was blessed/cursed to grow up with a mad scientist of sorts as a dad. He is not only a techy guru, but a hoarder of surplus industrial and automotive shit. We've been repairing rich people's hand-me-downs as kind of a means to get by my whole life, and acquired much of this gear through the repair biz.

I definitely juggle between analog and digital too. It's I like I use one over the other to fill in where I need, but I am still biased toward the analog experience. And that is why all the hooplah with the new setup. This is about getting a genuine analog master to send off for vinyl pressing.

So, as far as the music, kris and I have more than a full album of material recorded. I could upload a tune right now, but now I am gearing up to do the mastering myself. We were going to hire it out, but I just don't know that for what it costs, we can't do it ourselves, better.

Both Kris and I are dying to release something, but it just isn't ready yet.
She is actually coming over here tomorrow to lay down the (hopefully) final vocal takes. We have the songs arranged and worked out and now we have the bugs worked out of the vocals enough I think we may actually be able to start mixing this weekend.

Shit ton of work. But once this is really rolling, the music will be raining down on this place.
