Peavey - AKA Mississippi Marshall
PSA-
I think as guitarists we can all agree that Marshall is the shit.
But, (yes, BUT)- Peavey makes some radically tough equipment that doesn't suck, and in many cases sound great!
For example, the Rock Master tube amp and tube pre-amp.
I have played through my 100 watt rock master head for over 20 years and this thing is a tank.
I recently acquired the preamp version and it is about to be put in a vocal chain for recording.
Whoever owned it before me blacked out the brand name and model as if they were ashamed of it saying peavey. (stupid)

I can't afford to spend thousands of dollars on mics and preamps just to fit in with the mainstream trendy bullshit.

I just wanted to sing praise on the high value low cost gear that makes it possible for starving artists to completely rock.

Don't be ashamed by what you play through, it's not the brand or look that makes shit sound good, it is heart and chops.
Play with conviction and ignore the labels and your fans will appreciate you just the same, and possibly more if you can demonstrate how well affordable gear can sound.

rock on with your peaveys!

Had a big ass peavy amp for my Keyboards, heavy mother. but man could it ever handle a lot, played in small arena's with it and good size auditoriums. even used it as a PA when I had none, I know it is not the way to do it, but it did the job. mixed with my mackie 1202 , had no problems. But now, no more hauling big Rhodes and multiple synths and keys amps. acoustic piano (or digital) provided by the venues.

Yes Noah----I lost my Fender twin reverb classic guitar amp in a studio flood, 2008 and ended up buying a lighter Peavy Bandit 112 solid state made in USA with Shefield components with the insurance money---

-no regrets 10 years later I still use it often , excepting accoustic gigs where I plug in to the 500watt Analogue PA with those huge old tubes, and bass reflex bins with 15' JBL Speakers and Shure mike, and turn it down.

I think people get stuck on a brand. I like Marshall and hey are good and they do have a certain tone. I have heard some really excellent Peavy tube guitar amps that would give a Marshall a run for its money. Fender seems to also have its own tone and some like it and some don't. I have heard some fenders that I really thought were good and others that were not as good as some comparable amps IMO.

Ken

Ken - I don't know if you saw my reply, but I kinda feel bad you seemed to own my dissing of your bass player.
Not the case, man.
