Eight days a week in Maui,Hawaii
Hey Friends,
I have had a trip planned to Maui for some time, and finally got to go ;last week. We stayed at the same condo my wife and I got engaged 5 years to the day, but this time we brought our 19 month old son Aidan, it was quite special. As I usually work ten hour days, I only get to see him a couple hours a day. It was wonderful spending every single hour of the day with him, He had a great time, and was quite proud of him as he handled the plane trips so well. It was such a special time with my family..It went by so fast..
I am glad to be home, and able to check in on my friends on the IAC. I hope all is well with everyone.
Regards,
Jeff

Well I am glad you had a nice vacation with the family....I hear Hawaii is very very beautiful....but expensive.
I've never been to Hawaii....I hear it's pretty expensive. Now I did go to Western Samoa, which is very interesting...with Polynesian culture....stayed in some fales on the beach with no walls or doors....camera equipment in a locked backpack...friendliest people in the world...lots of beautiful corals and shells and great snorkeling...I used a photo I took early morning or late in the day of the beach there on my Classic Blue CD. You could stay in Western Samoa for about $26 a day with two meals included at the beach fales and I found a room for $40 a week to keep my big backpack and have as a home base...got to eat the mangoes and pineapples that grew in the yard, wash & dry my clothes, and cook in the kitchen....it was FUN....so funny to see men wearing lava lavas (like beach wraps; skirts) and police in blue skirts and brown sandals there! I stayed in Western Samoa for one month....went out to various beaches and stayed in fales, went to the other island...it was lovely...and more affordable...and the Polynesian culture there is very very strong...very interesting culture....one side of the main island has gorgeous beaches...the other island was great too and the natural wonders were beautiful to see...like the blow holes on the black lava rock where the ocean comes in underneath and water shoots high into the sky from these blow holes...I got some fantastic photos....and got to see a drag queen pageant put on by the Catholic nuns to raise money for the old folks home in Apia (the capital). What a riot that was! I travel with books like The Lonely Planet Guide. Pictures are posted from that trip here:
