What can I say, a beautiful song in so many ways. Once again much hope for your mother at this difficult time. A good friend wrote about bearing his soul into a song and you have done that here.

Hello,
After a Year of posting on the pipeline about non musical topics, and being pretty active around here it is quite discouraging that I got one response from the good man Nigel about a song very close to my heart. I am here first and foremost for the music. I have not been very productive in that veign because of what is going on in my personal life. I wrote and recorded the song for my Mom, and it was very hard to do.
Anyway, I am out at my Mom's this weekend, I was just a little down when I found the post all the way on the second page with little response (Thanks Nigels). Maybe its the subject matter, or maybe its the song.... or maybe its not about trolls and political B.S ! :)
just venting.... no worries...I am just thinking out loud...
Peace...
Peace...

Lovely song, Jeff. Don't despair about the lack of comments thus far. Everybody's out buying food for Thankgiving! I too get frustrated when I get only one or two comments on a song but the number of comments has more to do with chance than with any kind of mass indifference. You shouldn't take it personally but I understand that this song means a lot to you and you have invested a considerable amount of emotion into it. I can't explain why there will be an abundance of comments about politics or other non-music related topics but very few about people's cherished songs that they put a lot of work into. I gave up trying to figure it out but I've learned that it's not a reflection on me or my songs and it's not a negative reflection on the people who don't find the time to comment..
As I mentioned, it's all about when you post and who happens to be around and who's not around during the time frame that the song is on the blog. The longer you leave the song up, the more people will get a chance to listen. It's all about timing, not apathy.
It takes courage to bear your soul with a song like Mother Mary. It's a very touching and melodic song from a loving son. Peace be with you and your family at this difficult time.

I rarely check in durintg the weekend, Jeff.
But I gave this a listen and it is a beautiful song and a lovely tribute.
I don't add songs just because I like the person or because I sympathize. And, even though both are true, in this case... I added the song because it is a damn good song.
God bless you Jeff and your mom. I hope you find strength in your art and in your friends and, in particular, with your relationship with your mom.

Thank you Richard and Todd, I appreciate it. It was just a little frustrating to see the multitude of Non related music posts that quickly pushed it to the the back page, I don't expect anything, or think I deserve a listen Its just that I spent so much time writing and commenting on the pipeline over the last year about non musical topics I thought when I finally had something new to offer musically it would interest a few people.
The election was an historic one, and I understand all the energy and passion involved, I would like to see some of the same passion for music. The pipeline is great for all topics, however it is connected to a great independent music site.....If I was new here I would wonder if the music was secondary to some.
Again, I am just venting please forgive my rant...I need to blow some steam :) I have far too much pent up in side. No worries friends...this site is what you make of it and its different to each person.
This is the que for The code ???? to promote the song "Frustration" I think its the Code, anyway It pops up now and again. :)
Thanks for all who listen to the song, it is much appreciated....this site has been great to me and I don't want my frustration to be taken the wrong way, I am very thankful for the response I have received to my music here...Its a great place. The people are special and The functionality is second to none.
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff
I have a feeling your song "Hope" is going to do really well. I have noticed you have a couple of songs in the ambient genre. It is a good thing to see singer/songwriters/ guitarists such as yourself and Steve April opening up that genre to a wider musical spectrum of style and sound.

what a touching song Jeff...
it's so personal that I'm a little nervous as I listen to it, the fact that it's not abstracted.
It's a very generous thing to share something like this....
Angel Mary......wow.
Warmest wishes to all of your family. wishing you all strength and some sweetness in your lives.

Hi Jeff,
Had a crazy weekend and just now listened to your song. I noticed a hint of "Julia." You wrote a song straight from your heart about the most personal topic anyone can write about. I know it will give you strength as you go through this sad time. My thoughts are with you and your family. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone,
Wayne you are correct, there is a direct link to Julia, ...The Key, Tempo, and Melody were changed as a new song developed. As John wrote Julia for his Mom, I thought it a great place to start looking for inspiration. The song basically wrote itself as I tried to open my heart and record the results. I had the melody, then needed lyrics to fit the phrasing. I managed to get facts from My Moms Life in there in a way in which the melody flows.
All dates and references are true. The line about "Your little Boy was sick" was me.....as we moved into a new home, I was very sick as I was prone to excruciating migraine headaches. The only way they went away was after hours of "Moaning" and getting Physically Ill. Even tho there were boxes throughout the house, My Mom sat next to her little boy with a cold wash cloth.. I was four years old, but I never forgot it. Its funny what makes its way into song.
Regards,
Jeff

A song like that Jeff, everyone knows every word is about your mother and what she means to you...there were no wasted words, and it's a beautiful tribute.
