I'm famous and you're jealous. You gotta see this!!!
I hope this works. I've never attached video or image to a blog. Thanks to Ben Elliot for the instructions.
First check out this trailer for the documentary FESTIVAL EXPRESS. Watch for an extremely short blip of the crowd and a guy with a red bandana. Between seconds 8 and 9 at the beginning.
Here's a still from the full length version. I'm just behind that guy with my friends Duke Devischer (white shirt and belt wrapped on head, Dean Hirschfeldt's high forehead and bristly short red hair, Todd Pringle (brown shirt wrapped on head) and my brother's hair appears for a split second beside me. We were all hicks from Atikokan -- a small mining town 300 miles away. It's 1970 in Winnipeg and I'm twenty years old.
The shot lasts for a second or two in the movie. My wife and I froze every shot of the crowd and examined each frame of the Winnipeg section of the movie. I remembered being close to the control tower so it wasn't a "needle-in-a-haystack" kind of thing.

Hopefully this shot shows a red arrow pointing to that handsome devil with the glasses beside Duke...

I'm truly happy for you ... not jealous tho ...
Life is long, short ... and personal. No time for jealousy.
Looked like a fun place to be.
Best,
Kev-

Terry - That clip takes me back to the halceon days of '70's Rock Festivals!!!
I was in the audience when Hawkwind filmed Silver Machine, which was later shown on Top of the Pops in the UK around 1972!!!
Here is a link to the track!!!!

CODEY: "I was in the audience when Hawkwind filmed Silver Machine, which was later shown on Top of the Pops in the UK around 1972!!!"
Cool!
I saw that act in Massey Hall in Toronto. Was it just me or did everything pretty much sound the same as that?
I was in Toronto for a couple of years and worked as a shipping clerk for a CBS-owned business. so I got free tickets to just about everything. I was fairly jaded and stopped listening to rock for quite a while.
One guy that really impressed me at that time (1971 -1972), however, was a young Al DiMeola (in Weather Report??) His playing stood head and shoulders above everything I was hearing at the time.
Thanks a bunch for sharing that memory. Great isn't it!

So cool. To have it for posterity and to show the grandkids. Lucky too because nowadays they use cardboard cut outs for large crowd scenes.
