Hey folks! Watch my friend win the drag races.
The announcer is saying "Terrie Willard out of Frobisher in the 1978 Gremlin" as the video starts. This is the final race in this class.
The other car is so much faster that Willard gets almost a full second headstart. He must reach the end as close to his time trial as possible. He's dialed in at 9.0 seconds and does it in 9.01 seconds. At 8.99 seconds he would have been disqualified because you be faster than your time. Terrie and his car performed perfectly all day, winning every race and bringing home $800 and a double-decker trophy.
This is his "gig".
Good shot of the kozy king and the pretty smile is my daughter-in-law from "Cedars of Lebanon" (also on IAC). They were visiting that week.

Yeah BJ, that's a little riff I've had kicking around for a while, but I don't know what to do with it. Feel free to use it if you like :^D
That's Willard's fave song. I should mention that he's a machinist at the shop that I weld for.

Neverever.
No, 9.0 in an eighth. This is small-time stuff.
Terrie's taking the Gremlin to Swift Current to try it in the quarter. I'll keep you posted. Glad to find someone else who digs motor sports.

Scott:
Willard was up to Swift Current last weekend to try the Gremlin in the quarter mile. He was disappointed with 14-seconds -- he expected thirteen.
Some good racing up there, and his Gremlin got its fair share of attention including some photos for a website.
He's going to try slightly smaller slicks next season (rather than change the rear end.
