This is so beautiful, Steve. Can't even believe it's the 10th or so of stuff you've written every 2 weeks ...
Everything in this tune sounds fabulous - you don't have to tolerate even a 16th note when you hear it haha. All my requirements for a perfect song are here: great rhythm guitar, production that expresses the meaning of the song, rich back up vocals, really expressive lead vocals and words that take you somewhere out of the ordinary.
I know you have it as retro alternative, but it sounds sort of psychedelic upgraded to present/future to me - and what a pop song 2013 should be.
Can I download it somewhere? (glad to buy an Mp3 if it's available)

Cool and atmospheric track, Steve. I can hear a David Bowie influence. You've created a very textural sonic mosaic that evokes grand themes in an intimate way.
I like the attention to detail and the overlapping layers of sound, likes waves upon a shore. You're definitely on the way up!

Great going here Steve. The vocals have a wonderful nostalgic connection to the past while referencing moments of the present. Nice and full sound scape. Great song from a great artist!

Nice work, Steve.
Here's the thing I often wonder when I listen to your stuff: like, how come you're so good at producing? You don't ever talk about that aspect of things, but I know in order to have that kind of production, you have to be into production. You never talk about endless mixing or gear o any of the stuff most of us discuss that is pretty necessary to get stuff to sound that tonally right.

Cheers Bob..The answer to that is i've never really seen myself that way - so dunno if i am..I used to get told my stuff sounded like sh*t by people on recording boards when i went on a few years back -but then listened to their stuff and wasn't attracted to the the way it sounded at all..Often really glassy n digital n unatmospheric -I always thought thats what modern pro people wanted to sound like - and actually what music needs to sound 'professional' nowadays..
Tho maybe i guess i've learnt some things over the years..
Was lucky enough 2 or 3 years ago when i started working with cubase a friend gifted me and fitted some nice software on my computer..Arts acoustic reverb,Addictive drums, guitar rig 4
i use a battered old £80 electric and an old bass,,A rode NT1 mic for everything..
None of my equipment is anything special - and i've never really took much interest or notice in that side of things
Use internal mixdown and limiter presets...Vocal presets
Have learned more about programming drums more skillfully over the last couple of years -locking in the bass with the kick -that sort of thing..
Everythings written on acoustic first-but am attracted to develop the song ideas i can conceptualise in terms of production and dynamic contrasts...Dry parts to reverby parts etc- emphasise whatever drama's there in the song as much as i can..But thats more to do with arrangement -which i definitely enjoy
.
I don't really understand alot of the studio-boffin speak you get on those recording sites - so never really thought about my music as being as professional as those people at all..
I
