Leonard Cohen On Mount Baldy
A wonderful documentary exploring Leonard Cohens time in 1996 spent as a resident in a Zen Monastery....
I dunno how many people this'll interest especially given that its demanding 40 minutes of your time -but -like with all Leonard Cohen interviews i've seen/heard-i found it really inspiring ,so thought i'd share..
Thats the thing i get with Leonard..He's ALWAYS interesting to listen to.
Everything he says seems to come from the creative moment. He never talks in cliches and carries this air of effertless authenticity with him though all his conversations n interviews.
His thoughts open me up and suggest whole new ways of viewing the world and my reationship in it..I absoloutly love people that have the skill/heart/magic to do that
He's a beautiful.clear communicator f'sure
Incredibly honest and seemingly incredibly comfortable n relaxed in his introversion..
Really like the songs that come and go throughout this whole doc too..
Even tho he's universally considered one of the greatest n deepest lyricists EVER
in broadly 'pop' music,he hasn't used that as a reason to rest on his laurels
He knows he's not blessed with the most musical voice in the whole world lol-but i get the sense
(especially hearing the songs n this Doc) that -even at 62- he was constantly learning n evolving and trying to deepen his musicality..I mean you can tell he genuinelly digs a good tune
Really love him for that
