Weird IAC Tracks
Well this is an idea i thought about from things discussed on Stegors excellent thread
I'd love to hear other IAC tracks which people think are 'weird'-as we've all got different ideas/conceptions what that means..
I think this is an amazingly creative track with an incredibly weird, haunting vibe
Brilliant,beautiful progressive pop..

Personally, I don't believe that 'weird' constitutes unlistenable. As far as I'm concerned, 'weird' is best defined as something that isn't really mainstream. I suggest people check out anything by findthepixie and Ultrajazz. Both groups stretch the limits for creativity and innovation. It helps that they are both quite listenable and evocative. Listen and enjoy.

I think this song is amazing. I first heard it on Garageband.com a year or so ago. It led me to Melissa Kaplan's old band - 'Splashdown' who are equally excellent. To me this is what new, interesting and original music is all about.

I have a weird one for you Steve.
I called this one 'Outside Everything'.
Here's my summary of it from my song page -
"This song originated from a dream. Needless to say, it was a VERY bizarre dream!! When I awoke, I turned on my keyboard, pressed record and played. The result, with accompanying lead guitar by my good friend Lyndon Kriss, is what you hear."
and HERE'S my song.
I've also put together a collection of pretty weird songs from a number of IACer's on my SuperPuss Feline Asylum Radio station.

Ben..I'm definitely gonna check out that band,thanks..she's such a talent..
Maria..Thanks for listening-Really glad you dug the song and added it to your own..Thats what IACs all about for me :)
Superpuss..I loved the atmosphere you created with your peice..really strange and haunting..
Its just spoiled for me tho by the random not-listening-to-the-track bloozin' guitar..
If you've got a version without that i'd love to add it to a station :)

From one Steve to another, here's a link to "Rolloway the Cat" by findthepixie:

and here's a link to "Giallo Notte" by Ultrajazz:

These are pretty good examples of these groups, but feel free to check out some of their other music.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your feedback on 'Outside Everything'. I do have an early version of that track before the guitar was added but it is much closer to my dream with the guitar solo. It is quite intentionally detached from the rest of the song. I wanted to create an image of the weird trippy part of the song in a big room in very close proximity while the guitar is way off at the far end of the room creating the impression of distance and detachment.
The actual technical idea for the guitar placement was inspired by Pink Floyd's 'More Blues'.

Magnetfisch

well I think this is a rather strange, mysterious track of early Magnetfisch (2001, instrumental period):
http://iacmusic.com/songs.aspx?SongID=42692&ArtistID=17403
its title, "der Tortengräber" is a play on words, its music a play on sliding chords

Steve Lieberman is weird... and when I say "weird" I of course mean "a fucking genius!"
Also, Patrick Motherfuckin' Lew
No need to thank me.... I can feel the love of the entire IAC community even when no one says a word.
Love always,
Gremislav

Contrary to some reports, I don't have any "weird" music.
But, somewhere, there has to be room for "dummass" music.
