(Wo)Man bites Dog
Amy Rice feared for her dog's life when a pit bull jumped over a fence into her yard and attacked him. So she took matters into her own mouth.
Rice says she bit the pit bull on the nose Friday after trying to pull the dog's jaws off her Labrador retriever, Ella. The dog had jumped a fence to get into Rice's northeast Minneapolis yard, and Rice says she feared the pit bull would kill Ella.
Rice says she drew blood when she bit the dog, and her doctor will have to determine whether she should get shots for rabies.
The pit bull was quarantined. Ella is recovering with staples and stitches to her head and a crushed ear canal.

My God!!! That is a pretty brave move. I must admit though that love for a pet can be an extremely powerful emotion. I think if anyone or anything ever tried to attack my cat, I'd do whatever I could to save him.
FWIW, I HATE Pit Bulls. They are bred as killers and, in my opinion, are not safe to have around humans.
I was attacked by a friend's Pit Bull once and it was only the nature of my reaction that saved my life. Nitro (the Pit Bull that attacked me) had his jaws firmly locked into my stomach and it was only the fact that I glared at him and raised my voice in a threatening way that he let go. Basically, if I'd shown fear and panicked, I'd say there's a chance I may not be here today!
My stomach was a mess for at least a week after that. There were tooth puncture marks and the whole area was BLACK from bruising and it was quite painful.
