First NEW Studio tune for Conversation Suicide since early 2009. It's got that Beatles-esque, retro Brit Pop sound that IAC digs...
Apparently many are suffering from "IAC Anxiety", from listening to all of the RETRO British Pop out there in Indie Land. Here is a short 4 question survey to determine if you are infected:
Tired of Lo-Fi crappy recordings phRoM pHLeGm, and others?
Can't understand what the fuck C.S. and some other artists are singing about,
and wish there were intelligible vocals and lyrix?
Love that Beatles-inpHLuenced early British Invation Sound?
Ready for a new studio tune from Conversation Suicide?
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
If you answered yes to at least ONE of the above four questions, then you should
consult your physician as soon as possible.

Cool tune,
It is very retro sounding. Is that you singing (Phlegm)? The singer sounds a bit like Tommy James (Tommy James and the Shondells). Nice snappy beat, cool guitar part, harmonies...it's all good.

Yes sir ! That's me. I like to think the vocals make the song's repetiveness metamorpho-SIZE into catchy-ness. Quite proud of that one.

Simple.
Every generation a new brood of BeatleMania nuts are cultivated....
And as they blossom, the sound keeps returning.

Thank you.

I make one post in like 2 months and you are right there to follow up banana... it's almost as if you're lurking here all the time... hmmmm...
I'm flattered though that you like me enough to come out of the wordwork to make witty remarks... you must think most everyone else here is boring cuz you don't say much to them.

I listened to your song, Phlegm. Left it on and it played 3 times, not on purpose, but because I was too lazy to find the window to shut it down. It wasn't bad but you can do better. It sounded like a 70s song fused together with a Twist and Shout section, which was better I thought.

Interesting reaction from somebody who tells us they're going to make it in the music business. You make a snotty comment about the Beatles who are beloved by many but then can't take the slightest bit of good natured ribbing from a banana. :D
Rockstars like you would be safer on faeebook where the only public is made up of your sister and some friends who will tell you only what you want to hear. You better run and hide from any environment that provides an honest response to your banter. Run fast.

Conversation,
I enjoyed the song and put it on one of my stations.
But let me ask, what studio did this? I think you guys have the writing ability, and you can obviously play. But the recording quality isn't on a par with your talent. You should find a really good studio and even do one song. That would be huge. There are a lot of folks around here who would love to hear that recording, and I'm one of them.
Just a listener's 2 cents!

Nice job, pHLeGm - I agree with comments about a better studio - this was pulled down by the boxy drums and, for my tastes, too much reverb. The last chord was fun. Enjoyed the chorus (and even the obligatory Beatles harmony build).
Make more music... NOW!

Damn ztp - you spoke honestly, but I was hopin' you'd dig the poppy-rock vibe too.... s'all good.
THANKS for the listens Monkey68, and I DO wish for better studio trappings.... but finances and all ya know.
T'will happen ONE day, by hook or by croook. OR, after I've built up such a HUGE volume of music, that SOMEBODY's gonna dig at least ONE of these lower-fi tunes, and help us get TONS of killer tunes recorded, that have been waiting in the wings for studio polish...

ohhhhh... sChNApP !! The first 3 blog topics right now are BEATLES-based....
Maybe School (from Product Recall) was RIGHT!!!!
Everything on IAC is about The Beatles....and they're mostly DEAD.
Here's MY TRIBUTE, a RARE moment, where we actually had better equip and recording apparatus, sounds like early beatles-maybe, with a modern twist:
HARD to FIND

pHrOm Conversation Suicide; the urrr..... KING of POP ! ?????

Huh? I think the accolades may be for the song I posted, I think there's a serious Beatle vibe going on there, we even used a Rickenbacker 360 12 string on it which really kicks it up a notch or two.
I don't really hear much of a Beatle influence in what you posted, you say to much lyrically which is good on it's own but if you really want to capture a bit of that Mercy sound you gotta be short and sweet with words which is not as easy as it looks. Just acoustic and electric guitar is usually all that's needed, some bass and drums and you got it. What you do is very good but it's not to Beatleish to my ears.
On this song we just doubled electric & acoustic and electric for some rhythm here and there and it came out very nice. My sound engineer created this elaborate soundtrack to it which had about 40 track on every instrument and sound you could think of but at the end I scrapped all of it, sometimes it's better to just allow a song to breathe on it's own. Just a couple of ladies and the lead singer on harmony and and owe lead vocal w/ 2 guitars.., I think it works pretty well.

I listened to that song again, the lyrics are good as it stands, it's pretty close alright. Back off some of the guitar effects add a middle and it's there, nice work.
