political punditry and prognostications from me
Okay, while Trump as president would be at least some sort of a nightmare, the fact is that he's putting forth different ideas than the other GOP candidates. He's even for political financing reform!
Seems like it would take a pretty major gaffe for him to not win the nomination at this point. The other candidates are boring and seem to have no original ideas. Kasich is the only one who wouldn't repulse me as a president.
Meanwhile Bernie Sanders is for real and it seems he will challenge Hillary. Yes I can picture a Bernie Sanders presidency. If he could talk Elizabeth Warren into being his VP, he'd be unstoppable. Here's what I suspect will happen - I think Hillary will fight dirty when she has to, and we'll probably hear the word "socialist" 80 trillion times as they fight it out, will it be enough? The answer rests on the intelligence of the American people.
But let's face it, if Trump is the nominee, how many hispanics are going to vote for him? Maybe 3. Not 3 percent, 3 total hispanics! Which means Dems will win back the House and Senate along with President Sanders/Clinton.
I like HIllary myself but I will vote for Bernie. Great days are coming to America, it seems inevitable.

My prediction?
Trump will be the next President and will win by a landslide. I don't really know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but time will tell. I'm not even sure Hillary will make it to the end but even if she does, Trump will still win by a landslide. I'm not big on Politics and don't really know the ins and outs but I think the people like me will vote for Trump because we like that he's up front and doesn't speak politalk.

It's just my predication. I didn't take a poll or anything. It's not that I don't like any race. I like his ideas on getting the Country back under control. I just plain like his ideas and his attitude better than anyone else that is running. I also think he'll do what he says instead of business as usual after the election.

I really like your punditry and prognostications since I always agree with your politics. I saw a great caption to a photo of Bernie Sanders at one of his events that had drawn thousands of people, but got no mention in the main stream press. It was the old "the revolution will not be televised". Bernie is so smart and he's been an activist and leader in the US government for so long. I think he knows what to do. I'm hopeful!

Oh boy, politics can be a very volatile subject. Some folks get really angry and frustrated with people who's ideas and beliefs do not correlate with their own. I have been very hesitant about getting in on this one. But, I will say this (knowing it may piss off some folks) I think Donald Trump is an asshole that should not even be seriously considered a candidate. His obviously racist and distorted views about minorities are repulsive and wrong on all levels. He has no governing experience in running a country and no cognizance that it is nothing like running a business. A business has clear objectives and performs accordingly without any concept of fairness for those performing the work. Generating revenue is its main function. The country needs someone with peripheral vision that can see the importance of all people and temper their actions of fiscal responsibility with humanistic concern for those who are affected. Donald has not shown any ability to be compassionate or thoughtful about any of the pertinent issues. We need someone to be president for all people and not just the rich people with conservative ideals. I really hope he wins the nomination though. That would make the next democrat up a shoe in for the job.
I predict that he will win the Republican nomination and then get trounced in the general election as his mouth will get him in so much trouble with so many groups that he will not be electable. Currently he is riding high and spewing his rubbish with reckless abandon. He is saying the things that the racists and extreme right klans want to say but are too afraid to say because they know it will galvanize the masses against them. I believe that any one of the Democrats can beat him in a landslide. But it is still early. He may just wind up saying the wrong thing and fall on his verbal sword. As we all know, today you can be on top but tomorrow may bring a rapid downfall. Thus is the way of politics. Today's hero may be tomorrows chump. Uh, that would be chimp in Donald's case.

The race card is so 20th century. To paraphrase a great acting/life coach I once studied with - "If you see racism you are a racist."
Re: Donald Trump. I read his book, The Art of the Deal, about four years ago. I highly recommend it.
Donald Trump is more qualified than any professional politician to lead our country right now. So is Dr. Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina. Politicians, including our current president, have completely sold us out. I feel sorry for anyone who has faith in the political class.
Oh, and I hope the democratic socialist party implodes on itself.

Trump is a buffoon. He's already brought more division to this country than any politician I've ever seen. If he gets elected the US/Mexico War can't be far behind!
He's also talking out of his ass. One day he is sending back all the dreamers, the next day he's keeping them. He won't even discuss his birther bs anymore, he knows it makes him look silly.
Carson is in second place and he's a gay hating goof who recently got caught totally contradicting himself by having done stem cell research while going off on Planned Parenthood for the same issue.

I never liked Hillary Clinton. I always thought she was an uptight control freak who feels she's above the law. She has a robotic and canned speaking style that is so
unauthentic and unreal. I agree with her on most issues but she isn't as progressive as I would like. My fervent hope was that Elizabeth Warren would have challenged Hillary early on but I'll bet she's kicking herself right now because she didn't step up and do it. After all, Warren championed the populist cause long before Hillary did. But Bernie Sanders intercepted that football and ran with it. Hillary jumped on the populist wagon too, and all because of Elizabeth Warren. The fact that Sanders is doing so well is proof that Warren was right from the beginning and if she had gotten into the race she would be pulling in similar crowds as Sanders. Is it too late for her? Maybe not. She better not hesitate a second time. If Biden or Gore gets in, her chances would diminish. In any case, somebody better rescue the Democrats soon. Hillary is damaged goods. A new poll show that in a general election, Hillary would only beat Trump by 6 points!!! Get off the freakin' sidelines, Dems, your party and your country need you. Trump will probably not be the nominee but can you imagine another Bush in the White House, and a war with Iran? Jeb has the same neo-con advisors his brother had.
Imagine any of these people in the White House:
Scott Walker - dullard and union buster, not very bright
Marco Rubio ~ Still in diapers, would sell his own people down the tubes to win
Chris Christie ~ Bridgegate mastermind, will do to the country what he did to NJ - drag it down.
Carly Fiorina ~ Singe handedly destroyed Hewlett Packard and caused the loss of over 30,000 jobs and still claims her accomplishments there were exemplary. 15 years later the company is still trying to dig out of the hole she put them in.
Rand Paul ~ Would you vote for a guy who was named after Ayn Rand, a lunatic author?
Lindsay Graham ~a fragile little flower whose voice trembles when he talks about terrorism
Mike Huckabee ~ Religious fanatic and snake oil salesman ~ make despicable statements I won;t even repeat.
If Hillary wins the nomination and even the presidency she could still face criminal charges in the e-mail scandal. If she were nominated I would vote for her because she's still better than any Republican (hardly a ringing endorsement!) But could the country survive yet another impeachment of yet another Clinton? HELP!!!

Trump at least is real, says what he believes in and doesnt Bullsh*t , you at least know where he stands,, he offers a fresh perspective and is making everybody else set their hair on fire. (his is flame resistant). too many of our representatives here in Canada are career politicians and the same is the USA, and how many of them bring anything of substance table. you Americans are lucky to have Trump be in this campaign, he is at least making the political landscape interesting and is turning things upside down, making them upright again. He is kicking Ass and people in the political realm dont like mavericks, they want to keep things the way they are, and I like his brashness, bluster and his flair, and of course who can resist his hair. People keep saying that at least Trump is "real". Yeah, a real racist asshole. I like the fact that he is real because it makes it very clear that I shouldn't or wouldn't ever vote for him. The others may not be as transparent but at least there is a small chance that they are people I could learn to trust. I am sure that most Blacks and Hispanics would not vote for him. He has insulted veterans, women, Blacks, Hispanics and working class people. Most veteran's organizations have come out against him. Put all of those people together and you have a great majority of the voters. The fact that he appeals to the far Right folks who are blatantly racist and totally out of touch with the rest of the nation is proof enough that his brashness will only continue to inflame people against him. Even a large portion of people in his own party have issues with his candidacy and the way he has turned off many of the voters they have been trying to court the past 4 years. He has done great damage to the party.
Thus, I believe that The Donald will probably wind up as a third party candidate and that will virtually cripple the Republican run at the White House. But him being real doesn't impress me. If his realness was in the scope of my beliefs then I would vote for him. Goldwater was "real" and he never made it to the presidency because people knew exactly how F'ed he was. Being a real asshole will only galvanize the major voting blocks against ya. Now that is "Real".

Well Fred, if they really are ready to fight. they better vote. and turf out the old ways and old ways , it is the same in Canada, the problem is, and it is truth, most youth are disenfranchised, dont care, and are not really that interested in the political arena like when we were young, it is different times. now perhaps through protests, for a real cause and unjust circumstances, well yes, but I know of this political thing, as I studied the whole way it works at university in political sciences, as well as psychology .
The thing is, it will take an entire generation to properly change the whole course of the way things are going.By doing it through elections, getting the right people in, but the machinery of government is so inundated with so many challenges, those people who want change, could never do it in their lifetime. Now if there was a horrible event of a huge depression, where everything went to hell in a hand basket. like it is in Greece with their economic situation , or Syria with all the fugitives fleeing there and putting pressure on the countries they are going to,
There is enough history around and evidence to underscore the past tragedies of people who wanted change yet the ones in power oppressed their own people, to the point of killing them. Wars happened, look at your own history, and we know the result of that. I have to say there is a lot of anger out there, here in Canada, in the US, around the world. something brewing, so much social unrest all over, should we have a revolution, overthrow the establishment, well then change would come, but not in the way you would want it.

So you think that all Mexican immigrants are rapist murderers? Do you actually believe that to be the truth? That is a fat lie. To generalize about an entire people in such a negative way speaks volumes about the character of a person. What about John Mc Cain not being a war hero just because his plane was shot down and he was captured? The man was imprisoned and tortured while Mr. Trump was admittedly draft dodging the war through his so called "connections". The truth is that he is a coward who has the nerve to criticize someone who served his country with dignity and received many medals of valor? As a Vietnam veteran I was shocked that he could say that shit and the media served it up like he was telling the truth. Hell, I don't even like John because of his politics but I definitely respect him because of the fact that his country called and he answered the call. But its okay, we veterans will certainly show up when it counts the most. In the ballot box! I could go on and on and but we all have read the headlines and it puzzles me that people actually think the things he is saying are the truth. I have been around Mexican immigrants all of my life and the truth of the matter is that they are the hardest working people I have ever known. They do the work that most home grown Americans refuse to do and they do it for a fraction of the money that we would expect for that kind of back breaking work. Farmers are losing money as we write this because they can't get enough people to go out and work their fields and orchards. I worked as a prison chaplain and the facts are that compared to the rest of the population, very few Mexican immigrants are criminals. That is the truth! Mark my word, Trump will never become president. However, I support the decision of anyone who wants to vote for him. I would defend that right with my life (again). But I certainly don't have to agree with their decision or their perceptions of Trump being some "for real" heroic candidate. He's a cowardly rich man who thinks he can buy anything. Including the presidency of the United States. I wouldn't vote for him even if he was Black, liberal, a democrat and a member of my family. But that's just me and I am not surprised that others see him differently. Their life experiences are different than mine. I can smell bullshit a mile away. When the Donald speaks it wreaks!

Trump is bluntly barking and pandering to the base the GOP created, trained and conditioned. The GOP shot itself in the foot. Trump is capitalizing politically from the seeded and semi-veiled hate mongering the Republican Party has carefully crafted to serve their constituent corporations.

Look , I dont condone what he may and or may have not said, everybody has different and various degrees of sensitivities and we all are going to interpret things in the way we want to, I doubt very much Trump lumped all undocumented or illegal "aliens" Mexicans in the way that you have presented,(we also have issues here with people who try to work the system and do, and put huge pressure on our healthcare system and other social programs so that I have a contention with, these people need to go about things in the proper way, then there are those who take advantage of the system, and manipulate and work it to their benefit, that is wrong, even here It is important to remember that illegal immigrants cost law-abiding Canadian taxpayers tens of millions of dollars per year and it costs our constituents thousands of jobs,). as for his remarks about McCain, well he tried to retract those apparently but the whole thing backfired on him and he ended up with egg on his face, yet he did say, in his opinion that those who were not captured by the enemy, no one talks about them, and in his mind, they are war heroes to, perhaps he has a point, anyone who puts their life on the line in war is a hero.
So lets just say, you can have your perspective and I have mine, cheers man

Most people are tired of the new norm...... "rules and laws were meant to be broken".More so in the last decade.
We all know most ALL politicians are two faced mouth pieces that talk and walk in separate directions. But when the laws are broken and our policemen's hands are tied at the local levels, and everyone throws their hands up for the sake of political correctness, there is no wonder the masses are afraid.
Our founding fathers carefully thought out and set into place a foundation that has worked very well until recently. No one right now has the Backbone to enforce the current laws we have in place. Hopefully whoever can let go of their mommies skirt and show some balls may get elected.
I'm a Nam era Vet myself. I spent my time serving for everyone's rights and for a country I believe in for freedom. It used to be honorable for a mans word or a handshake. Now you get carjacked or you get shot just because......and it seems you and me and Joe Blow taxpayer is always at fault.
There is something terribly wrong with our system people.
The rules have definitely changed and it will take more than the Normal Jerk-off to fix it.
Personally, I still like our 2nd amendment and I would knock first before entering my humble home.
