Yea well there's a typical response. From the UK it looks sick. But if you dare to suggest gun control or restrictions you're called anti-American which is totally wrong in my case. I shan't contribute anything else to this thread as it's pointless - I know this from bitter experience of daring to have an opinion......

It is totally about the fucked up system. I saw a woman on TV, Lori Haas, who's daughter survived the Virginia Tech shootings and she has turned activist. She talked about several states that have gun control legislation and an organization that is not quitting till it's all 50 states. But it's shameful that it has to be done at such an agonizingly slow pace instead of the Congress being able to face down the NRA lobbyists and take immediate action. The President gave an angry and frustrated speech last night. Most people are angry and frustrated too. Unfortunately the most ignorant people who think that gun control means doing away with the 2nd amendment are the loudest and in the pocket of the richest without evening realizing it.
