I agree, that is very true what you posted here
mine was public speaking, or lack of it. not great at school, very introverted and shy, even though I would be fine at performances and in a band situation. I was not the best on carrying myself in my ability to communicate confidently and fluently. so I did 3 years of toastmaster clubs and got a lot of experience there and that made a huge difference in my life in so many ways and has helped me in my interviewing skills promotion and teaching
So yeah, that is a truism

Toastmaster, is that the one that teaches you to visualize the fact that everyone facing you is naked inside? That works both ways, you know.
Incidentally, I, too was very introverted and shy, not to mention paranoid, in my youth.
Here's proof that you, too, can overcome that.
Edited: I went on, at an early age, to star (As the Reverend Harper, in my High School play, in Arsenic and Old Lace. I also innovated, by throwing a banana at a fellow scholar in some other play. Thus was born, a still unrecognized player in the artificial game of Life and fakery. I dont go to reunions, because I'm still waiting for him to throw it back. By now, it could be lethal.
