Where are all the cries for freedom of religion now that Trump wants all Muslims out of the country?
Remember the Hobby Lobby case where all this outrage was stirred up because Obamacare includes contraceptive costs, or all the insanity directed at Planned Parenthood. Now Trump wants to shut down the mosques and toss out all the muslims yet there isn't much heat on the idea.

Well I guess I interpreted the Planned Parenthood shooting as convert or die. I know people with Muslim ties did the shooting, but technically the anti abortion/anti Planned Parenthood thing is a Christian right wing belief. And no, they don't demand conversion to their faith, but they've been plenty handy with guns and killing people that don't agree.
It's true though that even though Trump has a big fat mouth and can always get attention from others with who are too lazy to think for themselves, it's not the whole story. He may be the Republican front runner, but the rest of the Republicans hate his guts and Bernie Sanders beats every Republican candidate in the poles.
I just hate for our friends in other countries, who do love the American culture and way of life (and LAWS - freedom of religion etc etc) to think that we support Trump and want him for any office in the government - forget president.
He's screaming so loud against things that are part of our fabric as a nation - religious freedom, freedom of the press, basic human rights. These are our laws. He is putting our safety at risk by saying that Americans hate Muslims. That's what ISIS wants people to think. That's their major war cry to attack us. Why isn't his hateful rhetoric putting him in the category of traitor? Why doesn't anyone call him that? I guess maybe I am ... seems so hostile for me - I resent feeling this way and I resent paying attention to him and his childish and dangerous and mindless big fat mouth.

Well, let us start with the crusades and work our way up the timeline. During the crusades the Christians not only killed millions of Muslims but they didn't even ask them to convert first. They just went through and slaughtered anyone that didn't look like Christians (White or European).
Okay and then there is that thing called colonialism where several Christian European countries travelled all over the world conquering people and forcing them to convert to Christianity. Once again millions of people of many religions and cultures were slaughtered in the name of Christianity.
Then there is that thing called slavery. Remember that? It was also a crusade of sorts to make millions of people subservient and dehumanized in the name of Christianity. Some historians estimate that over 250 million Africans died on the way to the new world. Then, there were the hundreds of thousands who were tortured, raped, killed and forced to practice a religion (Christianity) that was foreign to them. Once again, this happened in the name of Christ. Interesting that most Christians favorite song (Amazing Grace) was written by a slave ship captain (John Newton). Don't you think that is interesting. Have you ever paid close attention to the lyrics of that song?
But let us move right along to the horrendous slaughter or millions of native Americans who were deemed heathens and savages because they were not Christians. Their land was stolen and the few that survived were forced to live on the worst land they could have been given.
You see the problem that we fail to recognize is that this war of religions has been going on for many, many centuries. This is not a new thing and Christians have no right to suddenly hold them selves up as blameless. The remnants of all the atrocities that have been done in the name of Christianity is all over the place. You don't have to look no further than your own neighborhood. It is no great wonder that we are so hated by so many people around the world.
I cannot end without mentioning the KKK whose emblem is the cross and who claim to be the only true Christians because they are White. To them, it doesn't even matter if you are a Christian. If you are not a White Christian you are not even considered to be human. Look at their record of lynching's, bombings, killings and hate. They probably would even hate you if you refused to put on the stupid grand pubah robe and hood. The atrocities that they have committed continues even now with several Black and Jewish churches being burned down in the last few years. Also interesting that they also have close ties to the far right repubs.
These are just a few examples of Christians who had the "convert or die" mentality. Don't get me wrong. I am a Christian minister ordained and licensed since I graduated from the Seminary in 1983. Part of the curriculum was studying the history of Christianity. I was shocked to find out how badly the scriptures had been interpreted in order to advance the personal goals of royalty and politicians. So don't try to act like Christians have taken the moral high road because that is most certainly not true.

Some of that shit happened this year. No one asked you to take the blame for anything. I don't even know what race you are because I have never seen you. T I was just pointing out that Christianity itself (not you) is not blameless. Also, everything that happened in the past is still relevant today. If not so, then why are we still fighting a religious war that started so many centuries ago? The past will always be relevant. The blood of my ancestors will always be relevant whether you want to believe that or not. Just as the blood of the ancestors of both Muslims and Christians will always be relevant to someone. The problems that need to be dealt with today are correlated to the problems of the past. There is a reason why they hate us and that reason did not happen just yesterday. It has been happening for a long, long time. So you can act like the past does not relate today but I guarantee you that all stories that have been passed down from generation to generation are a part of everything that is happening today. I think that what is naïve and insane is to think that none of this stuff has anything to do with the past. You actually think that Trump is going to win by a landslide by advocating something that is totally against the constitution of the United States. I believe he should be tried for treason for advocating the suppression of religious rights. Even the highest levels of his own party are going against him because they know he is wrong. I believe that trump will not only lose by a landslide, but it will be the worst loss of any candidate in modern history. Or, he will be forced to run as an independent and that will surely cement his and the Republican parties defeat by splitting the vote.

Just popped in to see what's happening round here! Even in the UK people are talking about Trump - and not for any good reasons. Not one word in favour.
Everything he has to say seems to go against what America used to stand for - freedom and democracy, fairness, tolerance, diversity? Of course we have to stand up aganst barbaric violence but not tar everyone with the same extremist brush just because of our various belief systems!!!
Good God - I can't believe what I hear or read.
Actually, you probably don't even want my opinion on this as I'm not from America - but I'll say this - any respect for USA or any special relationship would be impossible with that baffoon of an excuse for a politician in charge. But that probably wouldn't bother the Trump advocates anyway - but remember - we all have to try and live in peace and harmony and find ways to sustain relations with the rest of the world, and work together to look after our planet before it's too late.

Yeah well Larree. everybody has an opinion and as we know , there are some who think theirs is more important then anyone else, I rather like Trump. I like his drive and no nonsense approach. He tells it how it is, and doesnt pussyfoot around with all this political correctness BS ,tells it how it is, so there you go.
