Anybody see that fabulous debate last night?
The Dems are so lucky to have 2 amazing candidates. I give a slight edge to Bernie but both would be great presidents.

Oh yeah. Hillary is so wonderful. Absolutely amazing. She lies better than any other liar in both parties. Did you hear Hillary stumble when asked if she would release the transcripts of her Goldman Sachs speaking engagements after she said she gave it to them good? What? Did Goldman Sachs really pay Hillary $625,000 for three verbal abuse sessions? I want to read those transcripts. You probably will not want to read them as you would probably consider the transcripts a part of the vast right-wing conspiracy because you are so brainwashed. It could be her biggest lie to date, junior! And did you hear those two go back and forth for damned near a half hour with their "I'm more progressive than you are" pissing contest? Where is O'Malley when you need him? What debate did you watch? Get a job!

The wingnuts hate Hillary for being a woman in the same way they hate Obama for being black. It's pathetic. Taking money for speeches is something a lot of politicians do, it doesn't mean they're going to cater to whoever.

That just might be the most retarded thing you have ever said. YOU are the wingnut, junior. Get real. She is trying to say that she chastised Goldman Sachs for the $625,000 they paid her to speak. Are you fucking kidding me? Do you really buy that shit? She probably told them she has their backs just like she said she has the kids' backs. She is a piece of shit. Anyone who would vote for her is a dingbat.

This election, and every election for the past 20 years or so, for that matter, has become more sporting event than serious political event.
Everybody defending "their team", right or wrong, and not looking below the surface. Their side are the saviors and the other side are the devil, their cheering section waving their signs and screaming their support, and shaking their fists. It's completely destroyed any productive political conversation/debate, and it makes me sick.
This thread is just another example.
Please kill the Holo character, for the sake of sanity, and the sake of America.
And those of you responding to this Liberal troll (incidentally, I am a Liberal, as well, so this is not a partisan attack), please shut the hell up and leave his posts alone. Until we can have some sane political discussions, let's leave it alone.
So, maybe that will be forever. Although I hope not.

I so agree with you about the sporting event-like nature of politics in the last 20 years or so - but I do find Bernie Sanders to be the exception. He does talk like a true statesman I think, and address the issues that matter to the people of the US. I thought the debate was good and his example of no negative attacks on the opponent seems to influence the atmosphere and serve to inform the audience of the platforms of the candidates - which is the purpose of a debate. I'm glad for Sanders to get the exposure since the mainstream press, of course the billionaire class, and even the Democrat Party don't want his message to get out there.

Well Todd, considering the fact that I was the only other person who posted on this thread I really must say that this is a pretty chicken shit way of saying, "Shut up, Larree!"
Just sayin' :D

In this thread you are the only one, but there are others who have responded in other threads. But, if you insist:
Shut the fuck up, Larree.

All I can say to you, Hop on Pop, is, you obviously didn't see the debate last night, it was of a very high quality, the words and the rhetoric. I believe that if you had seen it, you'd feel really stupid for putting me down the way you did.
Many artists distinguished themselves for their political songs, in the same breath you'd have to put down Neil Young for Ohio and Bob Dylan for The Times They Are A Changin' - damn liberal trolls.

Thanks, Todd! :D
And I have to agree with Holo. I think last night's debate was the best one so far.
And so what if it is like a sports event? We live in a hunger games world, right?

I'm not saying that it wasn't a quality debate. What I am saying is that your language is obviously cheerleading and specifically designed to instigate: to bring the cheerleaders for the other side out of the woodwork.
There is history here (on this site) and you knew damn well what you were doing. It's not productive; it's counterproductive.
So, as much as I agree with you on your political points, shut up, Holo. I am sick of the bickering.
I feel like I'm talking to my children, who are fighting over which video game is better.
Yes, the stakes are higher, but the idiocy of the arguments are the same. Both sides.
I left another music site because of the political vitriol being spewed over there, and I don't want to do the same here. I like it here.

Or, if you're going to post political stuff, at least do it under your own, real name. Don't be a coward about it.
At least then, if you are showing your real face, EVERYBODY will be more civil.
*sigh*

No, it was not designed to instigate. I was inspired because I was really pleased, this debate was a joy to behold.

Get used to politics everywhere you go for the rest of the year, Todd. This is the first post-Obama presidential election. Nowhere to run to, baby; nowhere to hide. :)

But seriously, Todd, if every thread on the front page was a political thread I would say you had a point. But there are plenty of other topics to discuss. So why complain about it?
