Hendrix at Woodstock
Why are there no mainstream artists of this era that leave me completely awestruck? Was Jimi human?

There are transcendental artists for everyone, in every generation. You just have yet to find yours today.
But I am in agreement; Jimi was something above and beyond the rest of us.

I agree Larree ... Jimi had a way of reaching that "Zone" that few ever pass into ... but Alvin Lee knew that zone too ... I was fortunate enough to see him perform live from 10 feet away ... simply amazing !

Yeah - Alvin Lee & 10 Years after!!! Had the fortunate experience of being invited to a gig in Manchester UK back in the late 80's - top of the bill was 'Mystery Recording Artist' - turned out to be Alvin & 10 Years After - what a GIG - I'm Going Home............played for 25 minutes!!! (Not to mention Alvin's antics with the lighting rig before they played!)
