We can now fully witness the incredible bullshit adversity campaign being mounted to keep a great man from changing the world.
Since the Saturday Night Live show painting the media as kowtowing to Obama (pretty silly now, isn't it?), this great man has been in the crosshairs of every status quo faction determined to keep an outsider from taking on the political forces that have gotten America to where it is today. Can we even remember when the world looked up to our country and its leadership or has that idea been permanently destroyed by the likes of a line of corrupt presidents who will lie straight faced without a second thought?
It started with the Clinton campaign comparing this campaign to Jesse Jackson's and then releasing pictures of Obama in native African garb to attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator of American voter.
Obama addressed his pastor at the beginning of the campaign but only last Friday did these videos surface that turned Fox News into the Reverend Wright Video Channel. Even a speech that was historic and perhaps a new turning point in dialogue about racism in America wasn't nearly enough to stop all the petty mischaracterizations being molded by an establishment that is truly afraid of this man and rightly so. It will not be business as usual from the day a President Obama is inaugurated, if you don't know that by this juncture, your observation skills are failing.
Tonight we found out that there have been 3 separate security breaches on Obama's private passport file in a scandal that may resemble Watergate by the time it is through. Our own state department presided over a situation that started on January 9th but Obama's office was not informed about not 1, not 2, but 3 serious security breaches, until today!!
It is absolutely sickening to watch a man who is both white and black, who is substantially more intelligent and ethical than any candidate in our lifetimes be portrayed as this closet militant black man who is presumably going to push a black agenda, all this in order to steal votes from the white, ignorant part of the electorate by utter misrepresentation and manipulation. Today McCain campaigners got fired for putting a twisted Obama attack on You Tube. It also came out that Hillary's staff has been telling Super Delegates that Reverend Wright makes Obama unelectable, so much for the press telling us that she was appropriately staying out of it. Who could believe that, knowing the Clintons?
No man in the history of the US will ever face the kind of adversity that Obama has begun to and will until Election Day. It is a fact that many of the great leaders in the history of the world have had similar paths. When someone comes along who can truly change mankind, it is no surprise that a conspiracy of selfish and malevolent power seekers throws everything they've got into one purpose, to stop the course of events, to halt the possibility of progress.
I believe Obama is strong enough to take on all this bullshit and still win. I also believe that if history is any indication, should that look to be the outcome, his life is in great danger. Some blood is going to be shed in this battle of the titans. This whole ball of wax is starting to look monumental, like a battle between good and evil, a battle between the gift of a real future and a past that will not relent, and the ultimate war between lies and the truth.

Yeah, I'm gonna enjoy watching this sublime turnabout in history. And yes there is that fear, that comes from all Americans being a little cynical, that some gun, or bomb totting maniac will do Mr. Obama harm, but I think this one is going to be hit out of the park, and we're all gonna be better off with this intelligent, honest, Man of (apparent) integrity, as the next new President of an awakening America. God willing.
Love and infinite Peace, and yes we can, and will.

Interesting times we live in - the world is changing - fast! Just think about it: when ever before has it been possible that either a dark-skinned man or a woman could be the next president of the USA?

Larree and Holo:
Cut it out, you two!!!
Holo: Stop with the creaming all over yourself for Obama. It's just not seemly. And is actually bordering on a little creepy.
Larree: Keep it in check, radicalman. You're starting to frighten me, too.
For the record: I like Obama, and I think that THE TRUTH lies somewhere directly in the middle of you two nutjobs.

I'm not offended by reverend wright. i don't like him personally, and i'd never join his church, but i think it's perfectly acceptable for him to express his views. I don't think he was being hateful toward america, i feel he was being old, crotchety and bitter.
i wasn't offended at all when he said hrc doesn't know what it feels like to see a taxi whizzing by her. she doesn't.
the 'gd america' was dispiaable, but the next words that came out of his mouth were, about killing innocent people. i don't think it's good to damn america, but i think it's good to be critical.

LMAO! Best post ever!
I was going to ask the topic starter if he gargles with Obama's testicle sweat in the morning. LOL
But your post is perfect, thanks!

Oooooh... there's so much I'd love to say here but I just want to get along with everyone and keep my communications to the realms of creativity.
Besides, I can't vote for any of them anyway. I'm an Aussie. One thing I am extremely pleased about though is that our Bonsai 'Little Bush' Howard is no longer ruling the roost. That makes me happy!!
Oh jeez, I just made a political statement. I hope I don't get attacked by loyal Johnny Howard supporters now!!

That's interesting, a day after Hop on Pop shows up on one of my threads reprimanding me for namecalling, he comes out to tell me I'm a nutjob. Obviously he doesn't know whether he's coming or going. He doesn't like that I'm excited about Obama as a candidate. He maintains that he likes Obama but he's not going overboard. I think he's the kind of guy who likes to nitpick on forums but won't even show up to vote. Just a guess but I'd bet on it.
Larree we have telling us that Saturday Night Live is the news of record. That doesn't surprise me because he'd have trouble understanding actual news programs. :~D
Saphire also hates me expressing my support of Obama enough that he throws in a joke of a homophobic nature. What I have to say about that is, if you have real issues against Obama that really are about his candidacy and not about something some other person said who supports him, or if you have issues and comments favoring one of the other candidates, how about adding them to this thread? Instead some of you just show up to put me down, but there's no meat in your gravy. Don't begrudge me because I'm actually excited about a candidate. Add some content to the thread and not just some mediocre forum baiting. It's sideline commentators like yourselves, who won't commit to anything except being in the peanut gallery dissing people who actually care - who got Bush elected.

Never called you names, Holo. You twist my words like a politician, yourself.
And I have voted in every single election since I've been of age to do so -- primaries and "off year" elections, too. You?
So... what was it that you were betting?
And I like it when the young kids get excited about a candidate. But it's the going overboard that can turn OTHER folks off to the whole process.
Keep your eyes on the prize... it's not a game, it's our future.

"and I think that THE TRUTH lies somewhere directly in the middle of you two nutjobs."
I'd say that's namecalling. You're a nutjob if you don't think it is. Take responsibility for yourself Hop on Pop. What kind of nutjob calls somebody a nutjob and then an hour later says "I didn't call any names". :~D
Now I see you've added another gayhater comment. What I love about political discussions is that people's true colors come out. I bet you're sad that Huckabee is out of the race, he would've been the one to vote for since you obviously have issues with homosexuality. Personally I'm a heterosexual but I have marched in a gay parade to support a friend of mine. I really dislike people who use homophobic attacks to ridicule others.
You're pathetic, Hop on Pop. What a crime I've committed because I think Obama is a great man. There's probably at least 5 million other people in this country who think Obama is a great man as well. Would you like me to be ashamed of believing in a candidate, the rare instance in my life where I have? Good luck with that mission. I do not buckle under to forum bullies, haters, and idiots.

Geez you're just doing your darndest to try to paint/attach everyone as a homophobe aren't you. Just dying to elevate/justify/glorify your arguments by attaching the most evil ugly buzz words you can to what people say.
You know what that makes you? A lizard! LOL
What's next? you'll have me as a child raper out from this post cuz i had the word "baby" somewhere? Not true of course, but it's enough of a diversionary tactic to get everyone off your back right?
Ironically I'd classify that maneuver of yours as "Clintonesqe" kitchen-sink approach. LMAO
Your assertion that my joke about you gargling every day with obama's ball sweat is not homophobic in the least. Nice try.
I don't know even know if you're a guy, so that disqualifies your assertion right there. I assumed that's not your avatar - you're probably a plant from the Obama campaign or just a run of the mill fanatic you meet on the internet every once in a while.
The joke had more to do with teasing you about the fact that EVERY thread you start is a political diatribe, that leans heavily towards your deity-like worship of obama.
It was just a joke really, I thought it was funny LOL
I like Obama too actually.

Is it just me or is someone here coming across as being perhaps just a little too sensitive and defensive???
Holo, with all due respect, you are much better at enthusing about Obama then you are at trying to diss those who disagree with you. Take my advice, don't rise to the bait, rather keep it positive and on topic! Many people will see these posts, many people will form their own opinions about what posters say. You do not need to defend yourself by sinking to the level of those you see as baiting you, know what I mean?

Yes, you might have a point, Satch. I do find it interesting that these people actually seem to be offended because I 'am' excited about a candidate. I am never this excited about an election. However I don't go on Hop on Pop's threads about artists he's raving about and accuse him of wanting to give them oral sex, so something is out of kilter here.
Saphire,
"Your assertion that my joke about you gargling every day with obama's ball sweat is not homophobic in the least."
That has to be the dumbest statement I've ever read here on the pipeline. That even beats Larree's average post. :~D You're in denial Saphire about your disabling personality defect. You really should shave your hair off and become a skinhead and find your true calling.

Heres a little Joke for our friendly Obama Lovin hate Bushin Friend!
Subject: Stanley and the President
George Bush goes to a primary school to talk to the kids to get a little PR.
After his talk he offers question time.
One little boy puts up his hand and George asks him his name.
' Stanley ,' responds the little boy.
'And what is your question, Stanley ? '
'I have 4 questions:
First , why did the USA invade Iraq without the support of the UN?
Second , why are you President when Al Gore got more votes?
Third , whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?'
Fourth , why are we so worried about gay-marriage when ½ of all Americans
don't have health insurance?
Just then, the bell rings for recess. George Bush informs the kiddies that
they will continue after recess
When they resume George says, 'OK, where were we? Oh, that's right, Question
time. Who has a question?'
Another little boy puts up his hand. George points him out and asks him his
name.
'Johnnie' he responds.
And what is you r question, Johnnie?
'Actually Sir, I have 6 questions :
First , why did the USA invade Iraq without the support of the UN?
Second , why are you President when Al Gore got more votes?
Third , whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden?
Fourth , why are we so worried about gay marriage when 1/2 of all Americans
don't have health insurance?
Fifth , why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early?
And Sixth , what the fuck happened to Stanley ?'
DOH!!!!! Happy Easter Holo! :)~
