Did Heath Ledger's death make him a legend and make The Dark Knight twice as big at the box office?
Seems like it to me. Hype for "the Joker" in this movie is off the charts.

Haven't seen it yet. Can't wait to.... But I bet your right about the JOKER -- There's very few out there who could top JACK Nicholson's portrayal.
I'm a HUGE comic book fan, LOVE Frank Miller (the writer/artist of the 80's DARK KNIGHT graphic novel) and can't wait to see this flick. THanks for reminding me to pirate a copy Holo.
Don't worry 'bout Larree -- he's cool! His BARK is worse than his bite.

I saw a few trailer clips Phle and thought Ledger bears up under a Nicholson comparison. Would have to see the whole movie to say for sure. Personally I've always thought Ledger was hot, and his death a real loss. As for Nicholson, a friend of mine swears all those psychotic parts he plays aren't *acting*. :D

I just saw it and Ledger was nothing short of great. Blew Nicholson away.
This IS a "darker" movie, and it's the best Batman treatment yet.
It's long, though. Don't get tanked up before you go in, or you'll be clenching your weewee for the last hour.

From the trailers I saw Dan, Ledger was very in character as a true psychotic. It was very dark, scarey believable.

There was something speacial about Heath... quite charismatic he was... I think he was one of those people that you couldn't help being drawn to. I haven't seen the movie ~ however ~ I think when someone passes, who has a natural aura around them and is of the 'Hollywood Elite'... then yes, I think it can make them a legend. IMHO... I found him to be a gifted actor... and from what I've read of his portrayal of 'The Joker'... before his passing... it sounds as tho the 'hype' since his death is every bit deserved.
