Sarah Palin, most foolish political maneuver in history?
1 She's currently under investigation for abuse of power and lying. Her husband was going off half-cocked bullying people in her name.
2 She's so anti-abortion she is even against it in the case of rape.
3. She's anti gay rights as much as any politician in America.
4 She announced that she put her foot down to the Bridge to Nowhere but in reality she was one of the main supporters of that til it became politically convenient to be against it.
5. She's a gun fanatic who has zero experience with American inner cities.
6. McCain only met her one time prior to Friday, it was a leap. Scary. Imagine how quickly he will jump into a new war.

Yeah, recently he suggested his new campaign theme should be Ray Charles':
"Georgia on my mind"

I think once the news item aspect is over, people who are on the fence may, and I say may, have a harder time voting for McCain/Palin than Obama/Biden.
Just my opinion.
We'll see.

barack's speech was brilliant. such great timing. and yes, it did take news thunder away from the speech...BUT...making her the vice presidential candidate is a really cheap move. think about it. choosing her just for the one time shock-value. no one knows who the f### she is. there is no name recognition or identifying value. anyone who thinks that all of the hillary supporters are going to identify with her are fools. hillary has been in the public conscious forever. if anything, the majority of her supporters are going to feel insulted that mccain made such a cheap appeal to their emotions. mccain needs to focus on the only thing that can win this race: making people afraid of obama. he can never win on his own merits.

I just read a deep article from a reliable source and it looks like this mistake was fatal, Palin apparently wasn't even vetted to any extent, she has such heavy baggage it's hard to imagine her even lasting as the nominee.

According to the Frontiersman newspaper, Wasilla’s library director, Mary Ellen Emmons, said that Palin asked her outright if she "could live with censorship of library books.”
!!! Wow

I agree with you Holo, this is a shaky choice that's hard to understand. Yeah, she takes away some of Obama's thunder for now but is she ready to be president? I saw the TV show where our president is running the country and raising her children at the same time and my first was thought who could write this nonsense and now we may be living it..

Obviously McCain doesn't know what a VP does either or he wouldn't have tapped this shallow individual, considering if he dies, she'd become the next president. How embarrassing for our country, this will not inspire confidence from the rest of the world .
