The coming reemergence of America as a respectable country again. Non-Americans, we are sorry about Bush!
When Obama is inaugurated, there will be no more torture, no more Guantanamo. No more eavesdropping on Americans. No more wars for oil or lies about weapons of mass destruction.
No more Patriot Act. No more isolation of certain countries to turn potential friends into enemies. No more Dick Cheney lying and manipulating the system to allow corruption and injustice to walk away scott free.
No more presidential power trips that put Bush above the law.
You will see a country that starts to deliver on the promise of JFK and RFK and Martin Luther King. A united country that makes intelligent decisions with the best interests of the world in mind.
This man Barack Obama has reached this point by taking on the adversity of a thousand candidates of any other year, of a committed lynch mob hate clan of liars and opportunists who had not one thought about the best intentions of man but only about pushing this one man down. He is strong. He is brave. He can obviously take anything that is dished out and remain calm and persistent to do the right thing. His thirst for knowledge, his passion and instinct will never be lacking in resourcefulness in order to do the right thing in crisis or in bringing our country back from economic disaster.
The times have been awful, these last 8 years have shown the very worst of America. Many of us are ashamed, embarrassed by what has transpired. I know I never thought I'd see the US torturing people or phone tapping civilians in my lifetime. But sometimes it is darkest before the dawn. America is about to make a comeback. The people of America have demanded it and you will be shown that we are a better country than what you have seen of late. No we can't make up for this insane war or for all the human rights and laws that were trashed by these repulsive, incompetent leaders. But we can begin again, and the best of our spirit can once again show its face. That time is coming very soon and God Bless America.

Matthew 23:-
Then spoke Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples (the Apostles), saying, "The scribes (lawyers) and the pharisees (politicians) sit in Moses' [Law] seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe of God's Law, that observe and do; but do not ye after their example: for they say, and do not (and make up their own laws against God's Orders - Deut. 4:2). . .
. . .Woe unto you, lawyers and politicians, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all filthiness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and inequity. . .
Politics: "poli" meaning "many"; "ticks" meaning "blood-sucking parasites".
Politics: many blood-sucking parasites.

A quote from the Bible about hypocrites, how weak. Here I remember you being down on Bush, you think you'd be happy that his regime is on the way out but you want to post a blanket attack on all politicians like they're all identical.

Holo,
I am not attacking Obama. I sincerely hope he can turn around this abysmal situation. If so, he has a massive task ahead of him that cannot be achieved by human+beings alone.
I am not in a position to judge anyone. My past judgements have all been in error of my human ways, not upheld by The Law (the REAL Law).

Although I don't think Obama is the answer to all our troubles . I do believe he is a step in the right direction.
What is wrong with some people, that constantly believe that fear and negativity is a good thing ?
Do they have no hope ? Do they not see the beauty of the world ? Do they not see that most people are good and most only want what we all want ... to live in peace, to be a part of the greater good, to be loved. Or have they got down so far that they believe the world is doomed and Armageddon is just around the corner ?
Why would one choose fear, hate, doom and ugly over hope, love, peace and beauty ? Has the corruption and lies been fed to them for so long that they don't have any trust or belief of good left ?
Why is it when someone comes out with visions of hope, peace or love, do these naysayers come out and say things like ... "yeah right" and scoff at these ideas ... What we should all be saying is "this would be a good thing, we should strive to be the best people we can be" ... don't look at the guy at the top to deliver these things ... look to yourself to deliver these things ... No matter who is President, or how good his intentions are ... he can't achieve a thing without the belief of the people ... that is not a cult, that's what they called it in the '60's ... they were wrong then and they are wrong now ...
Love beats hate any day ... but if you are unwilling to believe that, then hate will rule the day ... Why do these people not understand that everything they want, what we all want, can be achieved ? thoughts have no power ... only we can give those thoughts power ...
Sometimes I wonder if some people really want a better world ... It's the self-sabotage syndrome that we humans have been noted for since the beginning of time ...
Please ... teach your children well ... Do not let this world ... our world ... your world ... be run by fear ... spread the flowers, spread the smiles, spread the laughter, spread the peace, spread the love, spread the music ...
Don't believe that this is just hippie rhetoric, it is the truth ... These are all things that you probably want for your family, don't you ? So does most everyone else. Strangers are just friends waiting to meet.
This is not just idealistic B.S. ... I'll prove it to you ...
Pick out a stranger on the street tomorrow, smile at them and give them a random compliment on their hair or something ... Watch a stranger smile ... you did that ... and I'll bet you will feel good too ... if you'll admit it to yourself and put your fears aside ...
Peace
Sam

In my opinion, it's all about compassion vs greed. I choose compassion. If we don't stand together, we'll fall apart. It's about the ideals put forth by Jesus the carpenter, not Joe the plumber. We can create a global community where we help each other or survivor island where only the strong survive. I want to live in a society where every person counts and no one is left behind. Obama may not be able to accomplish all his goals because of the mess he inherited. But he has compassion and grace and I pray that he's elected. Compassion is not socialism.

Here -HERE ! Richard, well put. He's GOTTA be better than Mccain or BUSH, even if he is technically a Rich Whitey (who happens to be black). I'm gettin' closer to considering to actually VOTE this time, even though the Electoral College may overturn the popular vote. A LANDSIDE, they could not ignore. Just hope the TV's election coverage doesn't sway people's voting majorly this time, and there's no bogus re-counts, etc.
He's got STRONG leadership qualities, seems like a genuinely good dude, and he IS the Lesser of two evils, right? And LARREE, I can't vote for anybody but the BIG two, 'cause unfortunately it's still true that a vote THERE would only take away from a possible victory for Obama.
Oh this bullshit two party system we have. Sigh.

That is so funny coming from someone who admittedly started their page just to flame my political posts. You should look at the pipeline rules which encourage us to speak out about politics.
It's easy to tell that Obama would be a good president. He's smart, and keeps his cool no matter what you right wing idiots say and do.

USA is in it,s twilight years as a world power just like Great Britian once was. A new President is not going to stop this. The big sea change is going to be when the other nations start dumping dollars before there absolutely worthless (Derivatives). Another problem is the USA exported it,s greatest asset it,s industrial might to Asia. So it can,t export it,s way out of this. This leads to the preponderance of a bankrupt and wounded USA with the most advanced and deadly military in the world taking anything it wants at the end of a gunpoint. War is just another form of commerce after all
The USA should be looking inwards trying to sort out the mess that is now. 20% and rising of the population are in abject poverty would be a good start. Some in the USA have a lower living standard than the poorest nations in Africa. How would you do this?. Instead of spending 3 trillion dollars a year on military spend it on regeneration packages for the poorest parts of America.
Is the glass half empty or half full we will find out soon enough

I just can't help myself... this thread, like most of this political vein has spiraled into a verbal bloodbath. Take a long deep breath PLEASE!
WHERE IS YOUR GRACE (words and music by Anjuli - crack*a*jack)
Where is your grace
You've been bleeding
Where is your grace
You've so been needing
Where is your grace
Your voice stopped singing... the song of your days
Where is your grace
Where is your heart
You stopped feeling
Where is your heart
You aint been healing
Where is your heart
That someone's stealing
Now you've lost your way
Where is your heart
She cried
She cried for hours
Just cried and cried and cried and cried
Dying for days
And no one came
Or called her name
To save her today
Where is your grace
Where is your love
Your hates been feeding
Where is your love
Apathies eating
Where is your love
Cause time is greedy ... to spend all your pain
Oh tell me
Where is your faith
You just stopped believing
Where is your faith
Cause child you ain't been dreaming ... no more
Where is your faith
Your doubt ain't singing
And hopes gone astray
Where is your faith
OH......
And I am in constant need of forgiveness as I am in constant need to forgive
I am in constant need of forgiveness as I am in constant need to forgive
I am in constant need of forgiveness as I am in constant need to forgive
Oh Lord Lord Lord
Water my seed
I am in constant need of forgiveness
I am in constant need of forgiveness
I am in constant need of forgiveness
I am in constant need to forgive
